In response to Paul's trivia question, I believe the episode (the other one
where we can hear the person on the other end of the telephone line) is when
Barney finds out that Andy is not going to buy the Williams place. We know
for sure from that conversation that not only had Andy messed up Barney's
projected profit margin, but he wasn't being very fair to Mr. and Mrs. Sims.
I'm not sure, but can't we also hear the two elderly sisters carrying on
about people's feet falling asleep when the "man in a hurry" was desparately
trying to communicate with the outside world during his unfortunate, but
life-enriching period of being stranded in Mayberry?

I think the episode about Briscoe Darlin's infatuation with Aunt Bea is my
favorite.
There wasn't a lull in that episode at all.
My favorite phrase was "Put the cuffs on me. I'm breach of
promising".........."I ain't about to be beat to death with no spoon."
I have been caught singing "Low and Lonely".
I count that one as my "most favorite".
I will remember you and your husband in my prayers.

"Trivia time! There's one episode where we can clearly hear the voice of

I think this is from "Barney Fife, Realtor." When Andy and Aunt Bee are at
the house Barn wants to put them in (can't remember the name of the folks,
but there was a "lake" in the basement), Andy calls Barney. ("Sarah, get me
my house.") We clearly hear Barn trying desperately to talk Andy into
keeping the original deal (after Andy puts down the phone and leaves).
"And I don't think you're being very fair to the Sims's!"

Paul,
Is it when Barney is trying to sell the William's house to Andy & Andy and Mr.
Williams each decide to stay where they are and when Andy calls Barney to tell
him that the deal is off, Barney is upset so Andy walks out and leaves the
phone off the hook and you can hear Barney that he is not being very fair to
the Smith's?

In reference to Paul's trivia question...
I don't know if this is the scene you're talking about, but I do remember
that when Malcolm Tucker needed to use the phone, all he AND WE could hear
was the Morrison sisters whose feet fell asleep...wonder what causes that...
We could clearly hear their conversation.
Also, I wanted to encourage all of you to take very seriously Aunt Bee's
request for prayers for her husband. They did find out about his cancer
just this week, and I have spent this week trying to imagine how I would
feel if it were my husband. REALLY think about that. Put yourself in that
position, and then ask yourself if you wouldn't want as many people praying
for your loved one as possible.
They are dear people and very much in love. Please just take the time
before every meal, when you say a blessing over your food, to include a
prayer for Aunt Bee and her husband. I know that's what I have and will do.
Have a great week everybody. Don't just let life happen...it's a precious
and wonderful thing. Time is our greatest asset, I think.
Thanks to all of you who provide so much entertainment and information and
comradery. I enjoy you all..well, most of you...just funnin'...

A good website for TAGS fans to visit is www.jumptheshark.com. There are a
LOT of interesting comments as to when the defining moment was when TAGS
jumped the shark. The general consensus is that TAGS jumped when Don Knotts
left the show and the onset of the color episodes. Be that as it may, the
show was number one in the Nielsens in its final season. The highest rated
episode of TAGS was 'Barney Hosts a Summit Meeting' , also from that last
season.

Hey All,
I know you can hear Andy's voice over the phone clearly say "Of course not!"
when Barney asks him if he let Ernest T. out for Breakfast in "The Education
of Ernest T. Bass".
You can also hear some of Barney's voice in "Barney Fife Realtor" at the end
of the episode when Andy phones him to tell him that he has decided to stay
in their house. I am not sure if this one counts as you can only really make
out Barney saying something like "and another thing, I don't thing your
being very fare to Simms's."
You can also hear the sound of the Governor in the episode when Barney
tickets the Governor's car. When Andy holds the phone over so the Mayor can
hear it you can hear the Governor repeating the information he just told
Andy, starting with "I think what your deputy was commendable..."
That's all I could think of.

Isn't it "Man in a Hurry", when Malcolm Tucker is trying to make a phone call,
but the Mendlebright sisters are visiting on
the phone?

Did we not hear the sisters talking on the phone in the "Man in a Hurry"
episode? Seems like they were talking about a man "who fell down a lot "
and "someone with bad feet?" It was albeit on a party one, but we heard
their voices nevertheless.

I so rarely try to answer one of Paul Mulik's trivia questions, but I
thought I'd give this one a try.
Was the episode "Man in a Hurry," the scene inside the house when Mr. Tucker
tries to use the phone, only to hear the elderly lady complaining to her
sister about her foot being asleep? Maybe this doesn't count because Mr.
Tucker isn't really talking to them, but maybe I get partial credit? ;-)

Hey everybody,
I believe the scene Paul is talking about where someone could be heard on the
phone is in the episode where Barney is into real estate. Andy and Aunt Bee
are over looking at Howie's parents house when Howie comes upstairs with wet
feet, talking about the water in the basement, and the crack in the furnace.
Andy calls Barney to tell him that they have decided not to buy the house...
Barney can be heard saying,....... "and another thing.. another thing... what
about Mr. & Mrs. Sims, your not being very fair to them."
...I've got this clock in my stomach......tick tock.. it's time for
breakfast...tick tock it's time for supper.........

As a trained "noticer" i believe it was when Barney was getting into real
estate. At the end of the episode Andy and Aunt Bea are leaving the Williams
house when they call Barney to inform him that they are going to stay where
they are. You can clearly here Barney on the other line expressing his
disapproval.
