Opie was missing teeth in at least one episode. Andy and Barney were teasing
him, and trying to get him to repeat tongue twisters like "Suzy sells sea
shells down by the seashore", just to hear the whistle.
By the way......Dixon.....are you a dentist? Just so I knows where I stand.

I purchased "The Mayberry Trivia Game". I wrote in an earlier BB regarding
it. I think it is just wonderful and my husband (who leaves the room when
TAGS comes on) and my married daughter, play it and have a great time!! It
is for sale at "Weavers" and I purchased it from there to support "TAGRWC"!!
Buy it from "Weavers"....He isn't grumpy at all..

As for Opie and his missing tooth.......I quote "wanna' hear me thing a
thong?" Barn was commenting about it in an episode I can't rememeber the
title of.

Hey I saw Rev. Alden on an old B&W Gunsmoke aka Marshal Dillon
He was not a good guy. Anyway, I am glad for the info on

>>>I for one always enjoyed good old Warren<<<

I was glad to read Ken's post about Warren. I am one of those that probably
enjoys the color episodes as much as the black and whites. It's mainly
because of the three characters Emmett, Howard and Warren. That's why I say
there are fans of The Andy Griffith Show (likes all the episodes) and fans
of Barney Fife (likes the black and whites), not that there's anything wrong
with that. Everyone enjoys different things. But it's just good to know
that I'm not alone when the color episodes are running.

Mary from Macon asked where Ol' Barn's hometown was before Mayberry. In real
life he's from Morgantown, West Virginia. If I'm not mistaken, he graduated
in the class of '42.

Just saw Mr Darling in a Twilight Zone episode playing a suburban Husband in
a town
where Aliens disguised as Bikers come to destroy the people on earth so they
can move right in.
They rough up Mr Darling a bit and then make him lose his memory of it.
Guess he didn't have his shotgun handy. Didn't see the boys around anywhere
either.

He states in "A Plaque for Mayberry" that he was "born right-cheer in

You're thinking of a scene near the beginning of "Andy and Barney in the Big
City." Barney asks Opie is he has lost "another tooth," and the boy
replies, "Yep! Paw hooked her up to the doorknob, and out she came!"
Barney asks Opie to repeat a tongue twister, and then Opie says, "If you
think that'th thomethin', you oughta hear me thing a thong!" (this was
obviously a reference to Winthrop Paroo, Ronny's role in "The Music Man.")

Subject: NOTE FROM TAGSRWC HQ: TV Guide Theme Song Poll
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

For any folks interested in the TV Guide Poll of the top TV Theme Songs of
All Time, it's probably entering its last few days of voting. "The Andy
Griffith Show" was leading for several weeks (having beaten back challenges
by "Cheers" and "MASH"), but it has now fallen to second behind "Miami Vice,"
which came out of nowhere, probably because of some kind of organized effort.

If you (or others with different screen names who share your computer)
haven't voted yet and you want to vote, here's where to go to vote:
http://www.tvguide.com/magazine/issues/021028/poll.asp

Or just got to www.tvguide.com and follow the 50th Anniversary links to the
Theme Song poll. It might be a nice little tribute to TAGS music director
Earle Hagen, if Mayberry fans could show their support for his song and make
his theme song #1.
