I remember a television show from the mid to late Eighties that I considered a modern day TAGS and it was called "Evening Shade" with Burt Reynolds and Merilu Henner. It always had good, clean humor (from what I remember of it) and focused on the residents of the town as much as it did the two stars. I also remember during a dinner with George Lindsey that he was supposed to be added to the cast as the town Mayor, but despite its good ratings, it was canceled. I recall that shortly after getting the axe, Mr. Reynolds was irate about the shows demise and was very vocal about it. Too holesome for the networks, I suppose.
