It sure is hard to narrow TAGS down to one funniest episode! There are so many possibilities. But I think I would agree with someone else who named "The Bank Job." Practically every line in that episode (except for the dramatic scene when the real bank robbers take over) puts me in stitches! For example:
Barney mispronouncing "apathy." Mr. Meldrim to Harriet, "Glenn Ford!!" Barney to Asa, "Now that's bullet maintenance!" Andy telling Barney to have the businessman's special at the drug store, a hollowed out tomato, stuffed with avocado and raisins. "It's good, too." Barney to Andy, "You must take me for the biggest JERK on the American scene!" Barney to Andy, "J - E - R - K -- jerk!!" Barney to Leon, "Don't you say nothin' about this, Leon!" Barney as Mrs. McGruder's cousin, "Uh...fungus of the knee." The lady in the beauty parlor to Barney as he comes crashing through the wall from the bank vault, "Hi, Barney. On a case?" Barney to man on street, "What's the matter? Haven't you ever seen a man take off a dress before?" And then goes off still wearing the hat. Gomer to Harriet after she issues a piercing scream off camera, "Oh, I forgot to tell you. That door's still hot." Harriet screaming again (she had a good scream!) when she looks out the window and sees the real Barney across the street (and realizes the bank robbers are really bank robbers!). Andy to Asa, "You and Barney have the most beautiful bullets in town." That whole episode is full of gem after gem! Love it!!
