A while back there was some discussion of why there seemed to be no other kids in church besides Opie and also why Thelma Lou wasn't there. At that time I vaguely recalled an episode where Opie was talking to or trading with another kid. My local station aired Man in a Hurry and after church Opie was outside trading with Johnny Paul. Opie got a penny that was run over by a train. He told his Pa he was going to straighten it out and buy something with it. Also in this episode as Barney left the church he asked Andy to borrow 50 cents as he promised Thelma Lou he's pick up a paper and two ice creams. So she must have attended another church. Barney must not have stayed long because later he was on Andy's porch singing Little Brown Church in the Vale and he talked about going home, taking a nap and going to Thelma Lou's for TV. Someone posted the name of a book a while back and it's author. They either mentioned Andy Griffith or some of its characters. It was something like My Life in Hollywood ...? I think.
