Song: Toot Toot Tootsie Goodbye Lyrics
Toot, Toot, Tootsie goodbye,
Toot, Toot, Tootsie don't cry.
The choo-choo train that takes me away from you,
no words can tell how sad it makes me.
Kiss me, Tootsie, and then
I'll do it over again.
Watch for the mail,
I'll never fail,
if you don't get a letter
then you'll know I'm in jail.
Toot, Toot, Tootsie don't cry,
Toot, Toot, Tootsie goodbye!

I finally went to it & read through part 6 & will have to keep going back so I
can finally get caught up.
Since I'm an avid reader, I think I'm a fairly good judge of whether it is a
well written fiction story. I give it a good recommendation
for all of you out there who haven't read it yet. The characters are true to
the originals, & you are immediately drawn into the story by the author who
also is good in his discrption & dialog of the characters. The story has a good
flow, & makes you want to continue reading. A big thumbs up from this reader.

I vote Kathy Bates. IMHO Doris Roberts has a snide shrillness that seem very
un-Mayberry. But then I can't see Aunt Bee going after someone's knee with a
club, either. Rosie O'Donnell, if she promises to leave politics et.al,
behind? No! Oprah! She's already a fan and surely in 2005 we can suspend
disbelief enough to integrate the Taylor family. Yeah. Oprah's my choice.
Warm, caring and funny.

Hi All,
The 30 Years of Andy was a really great weekend. A lot
of the cast was there & we got to meet some great
people who are no longer with us.
I hope I don't miss anyone - so here goes:
Helen
Thelma Lou
Charlene
Goober
Ernest T
Otis
Leon? (Clint Howard)
The Darling Boys (Dillards)
Jim Clark signed books
Everyone was so sweet. Hal Smith asked me if I wanted
a picture of "Otis" or Hal Smith & when I said both he
chuckled, Jim took a picture of us & then he grinned
real big mussed his hair & Jim took a picture of Otis
& me.
When I got up to pour coffee for us I just went over
to the table where all of the women from the show had
sat down & asked them if they wanted some coffee &
while I was pouring it I told them that I really
enjoyed seeing them & Anita & Betty Lyn said they
couldn't believe that anyone still remembered them &
that they felt very honored & very blessed. They were
so sweet. Well that is enough chit chat. I probably
forgot someone - I need to get out the pictures to
see. Bye for now

I was watching PBS this evening and they had a special on Sid Ceasar (which was
on way before my time)
and they showed a lot so sketches from his shows and our old friend Howard
Morris was in a couple of them.
This was the first time I have seen him in anything before his being on TAGS as
Ernest T Bass.
You can definitely tell he had been working on the crazy character that became
fully realized on TAGS for quite a while.

All good ideas, but I have to go with Jan on this. I think the Mayberry
Tribute cast would just do a really good job. I enjoy all these guys. You
couldn't
ask for a harder working bunch. I love the skits they put on from the shows,
it brings back a little bit of Mayberry. Especially enjoyed Allan and Ken in
the Convict scene they did the first year I was at Mayberry Days.
I love to see these scenes come to life right before my eyes. Anyway I think
they would do great, and give it all they got. They have my vote! Diane

I saw Hunter Tylo ("Baywatch") in an informercial last night and was struck
at how closely she now resembles Aneta Corsaut. *And* I think she could give
Andy that same angry look. So I nominate her as Helen.
