Re: BTW, my husband is a Carolina native, and he always thought TAGS

Funny you should say - I always thought Mayberry had more of a
California feel to it - particularly a northern California feel.
Obviously it was filmed there, but I just always thought of a small,
rural northern California town when I see the show (sorry, Carolinians
- no offense). Heresy? I think not. That's just the feeling I get.
And maybe that's a good feeling, because it conveys an important truth,
one that maybe Mr Griffith was trying to convey - that with love,
Mayberry could be anywhere.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our friend Jeff Branch and the grand opening of
the Mayberry Daze Diner! We wish you the best of luck with it! Wish we
would have known about the grand opening - would have been there to help
celebrate. Glad my Dad's hometown is becoming more and more like Mayberry.
Good Luck!

I didn't watch Matlock faithfully when it was on originally (shame on me!)
so some of the episodes are new to me. Today I was watching and saw Don
Knotts and Aneta Corsaut, two Mayberry alumni. Don was dating a nurse and
Aneta was a judge. When Don was talking to Ben Matlock, he called him
"Benj", which reminded me of Barney calling Andy "Andge" on TAGS. One more
Mayberry reference was Ben talking about a man getting his car towed when it
broke down. Who did he call? Wally's Garage! Ben said it was the closest
one to the man's location when his car broke down. Gosh, Atlanta must have
absolutely NO garages if Wally's was the closest one!! Wonder what the
towing bill was?!? ;) Just wanted to share those Mayberry moments with you
all. Have a Mayberry Day! Lisa

When Marge is telling Floyd and Sally to leave to town for the groceries, it
sounds like AKKABABBA or something. Can anyone tell me what this word is?

I have to relay to all you TAGS fans of a restaurant we went to. My son is
a student at Indiana University (IU) in Bloomington, Indiana. We visited
him this past Saturday and he took us to a restaurant called Opie Taylor's.
(Actually, he took us there, but anyone who has a child in college knows
that it's the parents who pay for the meal.)
I understand it is a very popular place with the college kids and is noted
for the "Fourth Best Cheeseburgers in the US". They were good, but it is
debatable if they were the fourth best. There were a few posters of Barney.
There were also some photos which could have been of Mt. Airy, but I
couldn't tell since there were no descriptions on the photos. I was really
tickled to be there, though, and took some pictures of the exterior for my
album.

Let me know more about Don Knotts clothing line. As a surprize I might order
my husband a salt and pepper suit. They never go out of style and seem to last
for years and years. Also if we ever go out dancing, it hangs perfect when
dipping.
