Another Northern Reference is when Frank Myers had a
spoon with the skyline of Milwaukee as a "valuable"
possession. This was in the "Mayberry Goes Bankrupt"
episode. That one always makes me laugh for a couple
of reasons - I live in Milwaukee, I doubt it was ever
known for a skyline and the real Frank Myers was my
Dad's cousin.

That is a nice clip, but it is the beginning of the show, not the
ending, right?

I think what she is saying is Akka Bakka. When Barney is showing Opie
how to jump rope when Opie is in training for the race, Barney also uses
this word in his jump rope song.
I did a search on the internet and found this FAQ for TAGS that explains it.
It is an old rhyme kind of like Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Mo that goes like this:
(we're not sure of the spelling) Akka Bakka Soda Cracker, Akka Bakka Boo,
Akka Bakka Soda Cracker, Out Goes YOU!
This seems to fit since Big Maude says it when she's telling them to get
out.
Here is the url for the FAQ if anyone wants to check it out. I had never
heard of this site before.

this word is?"

This came up a number of years ago, and after we tossed it around a while
the general consensus was that Big Maude borrowed the nonsensical word from
an old nursery rhyme. Remember the time Barney was showing Opie how to skip
rope? He recited the following verse:
My mother, your mother, lives across the way.
Every night they have a fight, and this is what they say:
"Icka-backa soda cracker, icka-backa-boo,
Icka-backa soda cracker, out goes you!"
So when Maude says, "Get going! Acka-backa!" she's telling them "out goes
you," or in other words, "SCRAM!"

The hearse owned by the Mortician/TV fixit man
That hearse may possibly appear on hearse sites such as www.grimrides.com
etc. It would be under TV ambulances and hearses or something of that
nature.
Anyone ever recollect ever seeing an ambulance, or even a fire truck in any
of the TAGS episodes
I know on one of the Mayberry sites, where they have the conventions etc, of
the Mayberry patrol cars, I did notice a '65 red and white Ponitac ambulance
(the high top kind) in the parade.
talk about a good looking rig, wis I had it
I would attach the pic but dunno how thru hotmail.

It sounded to me like Big Maude said "Akka bakka" instead of "Akkababba." I
don't know what it means, either, and I am hoping someone out there does know
and will clear up this mystery.
Also, I think the reason Boston TV shows more TAGS than NC is because they must
need it more in Boston. If you live in NC, you can visit Mt. Airy. It is a
little harder to do that if you are in Boston. It seems to make sense that
people in the north need a dose of Southern hospitality more than people in the
south. Or it could be that since Warren came from Boston and since he may
have moved back there after his time in Mayberry ended, maybe he wanted the
Boston TV station to show the two episodes a day so that he wouldn't miss
Mayberry so much. Makes sense to me, anyway.

I'd bet you lunch at the diner that it is in fact Myers Lake in "Andy's Rich
Girl Friend". In the opening scene the camera angle is to low to really see the
background but near the end when they are skipping rocks you can plainly see
trees and more importantly a huge nearly mountain size hill. Franklin Canyon is
nestled right in between the Santa Monica mountains.
If we are going to mention bodies of water lets not forget:
(#9)"A Feud is a Feud" when Andy forces a duel between Mr. Harfield and Mr.
McCoy. The lake is in the background.
(#73)"Opie's Rival" when Andy, Opie and Peggy go fishing;
(#117)"Andy's Vacation" when Barney "takes him alive", 'him' being Andy who
Barney mistakes for the escaped convict;
(#140)"Andy and Helen Have Thier Day" when Andy and Barney try to get away
from everyone by rowing out into the lake;
(#165) "Warning from Warren" when Andy and Helen actually go swimming in Myers
Lake, accidently of course courtesy of Warren.
(#200)"Big Fish in a Small Town" when Howard catches Old Sam.
I pretty sure that all of these were filmed at Franklin Canyon. I had to get
the old Beta tapes out to review these episodes. Everyone know what Beta is? I
have nearly every episode on this old format. Gives you an idea how long I've
been following TAGS.
BTW-While I was watching these I noticed one episode during the ending credits
where the background is Andy and Opie walking back down the same path that they
walk up in the show's opening. Haven't seen that in a long time.
