I hate to ask this, but can whoever provided the words to Low and Lonely
please post them again?
I deleted them by mistake. I sing the one verse I know to my wife all of
the time....she loves it.
BTW, more people mentioned but never seen; Al, who used to dance with Sally
in Toledo (sorry, can't remember the name of the club, help me out), Opie's
girlfriend Charlotte who he is saving up to buy a coat for, earlier I had
mentioned Hog and Hoggette Winslow (pretty name) but completely forgot about
the taxidermist what sewed up her head.

I believe that's Melba. Be careful, she's got a stick!

Not that it matters, but it's Laura Lee Hobbs.

Don't forget the "Quiet Sam" episode where Andy had to go and have a
cigarette after delivering Baby Andy.

Barney is hilarious as he recites the preamble & I don't know that I
could recite it myself. I was a young teenager in the early 1970's so I
tend to sing it out. I start out speaking & end up singing after the
first line or so. Maybe Barney needed "Schoolhouse Rock", too.

How about Buzzy Leonard? When Andy and Barney are looking around in the
junkyard, they find a bumper off of Buzzy Leonard's car. Also, they
find somebody's shopping list which consists of pies, cakes and cookies
and Andy says she always claimed her wieght was a glandular problem. I
can't remember her name (??)

O.K., since we're on an inconsistencies thread, here's one I always
notice but I don't think has been discussed anywhere. In the women
convicts episode, when Naomi the convicted husband beater goes out to
get water and Andy and 'Chuck' O'Mally sneak up behind her and handcuff
and gag her, the gag is a hanky folded up oblong into a band shape.
Then, one second and one camera change later, as she's seen struggling
and being dragged away, the gag is folded over only once into a triangle
shape.

Regarding characters not seen, I always wanted to know what Myra Koontz
from the lingerie shop looked like. And I'm dying to know what the
story was that was going around about her. Also, Perlie Mae Dubois from
Andy and Barney's graduating class. Anybody who rates an "Oh, Wow!" from
Barney must have been a real looker.

First of all, on the G-men...I'm sure someone can tell this better than
I, but one of the original G-men actually fell ill during filming.
That's why Rance Howard is inserted unexpectedly. That episode has lots
of inconsistencies.
On the never seen characters..we actually have different levels or
categories (in my feeble mind)
There are those mentioned multiple times never seen
Like Sara and Juanita
Then there are those mentioned multiple times in one or two
episodes--but never seen
Like Laura Lee Hobbs (1 episode)
Leonard Blush (2 episodes?)
Edgar Coleman (1 episode)
Bobby Grible and Emma Larch
Charlie Varney
Rube Sloan
Jack Sweet
And then there is the most obscure group..those actually mentioned only
once!!!
Charley Phelps (Decal Specialist)
Edna Thoge (Debater)
Viola Slatt (Gossip)
Luke Taft (bachelor)
Hugo Hotflash (German Soldier)
Mrs. Kelsey (Barney take in her Laundry)
Here's a Trivia question for beginners. What "never seen character" (at
the times first mentioned), actually became a real character in
Mayberry???

I have a friend interested in getting one of the Andy Griffith Martin Guitars.
A while back I remember someone on this board had a few for sale. If anyone
knows where one is available, I would appreciate the information.

"Concerning Alan's post on the Gold Truck episode, one thing that I have always
noticed and thought was so funny is that the G-men actually change in those
first few moments of the show. I believe when Opie comes in and looks over at
them, those men are not the ones that originally came in. And then they
mysteriously change back when Andy comes in. Am I seeing things or does anyone
else see this also?"
You are correct. What I have heard is that one of the original actors (the
ones who were there when Opie first came in) had a nervous breakdown during
filming and had to be replaced at the last minute. Rance Howard was the
replacement actor. Prior to the poor man's nervous breakdown, part of the
episode had already been filmed. They went ahead and used the part that had
already been filmed using the original actors, probably to save money and/or
time. They just continued filming the rest of the scenes with the G-men using
Rance Howard. After all, the original actors were only on screen for a few
seconds. During the original run of the show it is unlikely that viewers would
have noticed the switch.

Hey, and thanks for the tip-off @ the mini marathon.
While TVLand IS airing the trailers, they are snipping out parts of
the program. In "Citizen's Arrest" the behind bars tiff between Otis &
Barney was shortened. To whit:
O: "Who's gonna make me?"
B: "Me, myself and I"
O: "That's three people"
...any of you sharpshooters notice other episodes suffering the same fate?
OK smarty pants. What (numerical) day did Barney put himself in jail?
How many days were in that month?

I'm stumped, I truly am stumped.
Andy mentions Edna Thoakes and I can't remember why or who he is speaking
with.
Please someone tell me.
