Please someone tell me. Margaret<<<

Margaret, its at the Class Reunion, when Andy and Barney are trying to
place people. He asks a lady is she was on the debate team.
She says yes, but it turns out she's not from Mayberry. She married to
Ralph Henderson (not to be confused with Jack Sweet)
Andy then mentions Edna, as a member of Mayberry's debate team.

I'm not a beginner, but I couldn't resist. Are you looking for Gomer's
cousin Goober? He was mentioned several times (Man in a Hurry and Sermon
For Today) before first appearing in aThe Fun Girls episode.

FYI--In this episode, BARNEY was smoking while incarcerated, and even
though TVLand cut out "me, myself and I" they left "I am so sorry I
broke your heart Mother" intact. The tears on my pillow bespeak the
pain in my heart....It was the 11th day of a 31 day month when Barney
locked himself up. ($5 or 5 days...)

About 1 1/2 years ago I had the pleasure to go to Pigeon Forge to see some of
the cast and meet them. It was an unforgetable night. I got to talk to George
Lindsey, Ronnie Schull, Barbara Stewart and Betty Lynn, and oh yeah Howard
Morris --- The one thing I will remember most is when I asked Betty Lynn to
sign my book, it was a photograph of her and Andy and she pointed out to me
that when the photo was taken orginally, she had a cigarette between her
fingers and they air brushed it out of the photo. She said back then everybody
smoked.

Man, I'll you, I can't say that I have a favorite character because they are
all one! But, I will say that I really enjoyed talking to Barbara Stewart and
Betty Lynn. Betty was the most down to earth person for someone of her
success, she just seemed to enjoy conversation and seemed to have a real
appreciation of her fans!

In "Class Reunion," Andy meets a woman he think he remembers, but she's not
who he thinks she is. He tells her "You remind me of a girl that was in
debate with us: Edna Thoake." I'm just guessing on the spelling of the last
name; perhaps it's Thope or something else, but it doesn't sound to me like
it ends with S.

Oh my goodness, I'm sitting here watching "A Date for Gomer" and they're
all sitting on Thelma Lou's couch and they completely cut out the part
where Gomer crosses his legs and reveals his yellow, porous socks much
to Mary Grace's shock. And also the whole part where Andy tries to tell
the funny story about the dog that had just been shaved for the summer
and went into Norman's Groceteria and walked right up to Mrs. Spears
behind the counter and Al Becker was standing there.......... Such a
rich monologue and a wonderful visual and we don't get to see it.

Low And Lonely

Chorus

Low and lonely, sad and blue
Thinking only, of little you
Always trying, to keep from crying
I'm low and lonely over you

1. Do you miss me, say you do
Tell me darling, please tell me true
Do you yearn dear, for my return dear
I'm low and lonely over you

2. Low and lonely, weary too
You're the only, true love I knew
Don't be long dear, you know it's wrong dear
I'm low and lonely over you

3. You're my darling, you're my dear
You can trust me, so never fear
How I miss you, I long to kiss you
I'm low and lonely over you

"Al, who used to dance with Sally in Toledo (sorry, can't remember the name of
the club, help me out), "

That would be the Cascade Club.

"What "never seen character" (at the times first mentioned), actually became a
real character in Mayberry???"

My guess is Gomer's cousin Goober.

There were actually two or three (like Wally) but I'll bet I know who you're
talking about: Goober perhaps?

Hi, Alan and everybody! A while back, I wrote in that I was building models
of the Mayberry courthouse. They are made of 1/2 inch poplar wood finished
with original art I did on the computer. Well, the old garage workshop has
just
now warmed up enough down here so that I was able to complete the first
orders I got and will be shipping them shortly. I will make more of them if
anybody wants one. They measure 6 x 5 1/2 x 4 inches. You can email me and I
will
send you a photo of one with the price and other info you might want. These
are hand made and I make them in my spare time, so please don't anybody get
facetious or obtuse if I don't turn them out like Ronco-matic does cabbage
choppers. Just let me know if you want one and I'll make it and we'll work out
the details. Eventually, I'm gonna try to make the building next to the
courthouse (Floyd's Barber Shop and the Grocery Store). That is proving to be
a real
challenge, doing the artwork, since it's hard finding a complete picture of
the whole building. Oh, one more thing. Since I am somewhat into model
railroading, I have designed these to correspond to HO-scale model railroad
layouts. Now, to me, that would be a real hoot, to see one of those big model
railroad layouts with Mayberry next to the tracks!

I was watching a "Married With Children" episode and the Bundys were on
vacation. They stopped in a small town out west that claimed two celebrities;
one was a killer and the other was a man who had talked to Andy Griffith. Both
were protected species.

Hey Friends!

In a very early episode, our pal Floyd wants his barber-shop to be referred to
in an advertisement as "the best clip
joint in town."

Now, I think I have a vague idea that a clip joint is some
kind of place where drankin' and bettin' is going on, but is that the case?
I've never been quite sure.

Signed, Lydia, I hate gambling. I don't mind a lively game
of bingo or chess. But I hate down-and-dirty gambling.

Thinking about the 'Andy Griffith Martin Guitar' makes one think of guitars
in general and the inflation of the U.S. dollar. People are plunking down
approximately $2000 to $3000 for this Andy guitar. How much do you think the
guitars he played on the show were worth at the time? For all we know, he may
have
went to a Los Angeles area Murphy Mart and bought one back in the 1960s. The
Beatles didn't play on equipment that expensive! They just played with heart.
Now, what guitar would be worth more today: The 'Andy Griffith Martin Guitar'
OR an acoustic guitar that Andy played on the show that he might still have
in his possession? If one of those guitars that were featured on the show went
up on auction, that lesser quality guitar's final bid might eclipse this new
Martin guitar. Think about it!
