I was thinking about the perfect date in Mayberry and I thought it might be
nice to make a whole day of it. Go to the diner for breakfast where we would
be sure to leave a dollar for a tip instead of a quarter. Then maybe we would
take a walk over to the "movie house" and watch them change the marquee, we are
like Barney we always enjoy that. For lunch I could pack some fried chicken
and sandwiches and go to Myers Lake for some peace and quiet. Some shopping
in the afternoon would be nice and my honey could tell me which dress he liked,
then we could go over to the hat store and I would try on hats. Next we would
go over to my Mother's and sit around there for awhile. Then it would be back
to my house for a pan of cashew fudge and we could watch a little tv. I would
hope that Goober and Barney wouldn't spy on us if my "belovded" were to sneak a
little kiss. All in all that sounds like a wonderful date to me, of course as
all of you know there is so much more to do in
Mayberry. But that would be another date....

Oh yeh...you know they've got that open kitchen where you can look right in
there and watch them pound it!

"After dinner we would go to see The Monster that Ate Minnesota at the Mayberry
theater." Well Kenneth, once you've seen one monster - you've seen them all.

Prior to your perfect date would you buy your box of deluxe chocolates at the
drugstore? Maybe Ellie would sell it to you. Or Opie if the perfect date is
in color.

"But did any of you ever think that Helen had more in common
with studious Howard than with the more easy-going Andy? I always thought
they'd match up better, but then I didn't write the show."

I think his fastidiousness would have driven her crazy.

I loved the photos of Andy's house! Oh how I wish I could live there.

Also, I was in Sam's Club this past Friday and they had Blue Willow dishes
for sale -- a place setting for four for about $48.00. There must have been
20 sets of them.

Have a great Mayberry Day.

IMDB shows this film was originally released as black and white.
Is the DVD that is being released on the 10th a colorized version of the film?
or was it originally shot in color but released in black and white?
