Mike,
Oh my god how my heart goes out to you. I just wanted to tell you that
my family and I are thinking of you. My daughter is 15 and the light of
my life. I couldn't imagine going through what you are right now.
My Alison watches Ange with me every day, buys me the CDS DVDS and will
trade a quip or two for no reason other than to make me laugh and
confuse her mother.
I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Somehow, I'm picturing Howard Morris out fishing in that great big "Old Man
Kelsey's Ocean" in the sky. Perhaps half mast is correct. ;)

An amazing talent. A Jewish man who played the ultimate hillbilly perfectly.
Does anyone remember that he was also the voice for Adam Ant? (Up and
away....it's Adam Ant), or was it Atom Ant? He will be greatly missed.
Saw Ron Howard on ESPN, stating that he was a Steve Nash and Phoenix Suns' fan.
Opie, where did you go wrong? Remember that good guys wear Siver & Black (Go

Re: One way to honor him here, I think would be to post our favorite

He loved to make people laugh. Let's remember all the times he made us

Hey everybody. I just thought that I would chime in on the Ernest T.
memories. Anybody who could be in only 5 episodes of a TV series and
make that kind of an impact is nothing less that GREAT. I am glad that
my wife, son and I got to meet Howard a few years ago at Mayberry Days.
My son got an autograph picture of him that read To Will "Hi" Ernest T.
Bass. It will become on of our most prized positions. There is
really nothing more to say about it. We all feel the same way. No
words need be spoken. That's what's so great about this Mayberry
family. We all understand it. Well got to go now. Horatio (Kevin)

TV Land will air a tribute to Howard Morris on Wednesday, May 25, from 7
p.m.-10 p.m., which will feature five episodes of The Andy Griffith Show
in which Morris appears as Ernest T and one episode directed by him.
Please join us in celebrating the life, and marking the passing, of this
TV Land legend.
I don't know if that's 7pm Eastern or Central so be sure to check for
yourself. The TV Land site wasn't specific as to time zone. You can
visit there site about Howard Morris by going to
http://www.tvland.com/obits/morris/
You might also want to check out Howard's Daughter Kim's tribute to her

Hi all,
I think I may have figured out the Swump case. Remember when we asked, "Who
was he?". "Where did he come from ?". "Where did he go?" . I found the answer
looking at some up- to- date pictures of Jerry Mathers (AKA The Beaver). I
noticed an uncanny resemblence to the two of them. My guess is they were one
and the same!! Swump, a master actor, played the Beaver ,later playing
himself, without makeup of course, in tags. So putting two and two togther Mr.
Swump is in fact Jerry Mathers. The same smile ,the same clumsiness. It also
explains why Swump never talked. That would have been a dead giveaway. You have
to get up pretttty early in the mornin....well you know.

1) That Ernest T. was in only five shows and to have made such an impression.
2) That I remember Howard Morris--not that I knew the name at the
time--clinging onto Sid Caeser's leg.
3) That I'm old enough to remember 2!
