Had a very pleasant weekend with my two sons. Went to
the 500 and heard Gomer, errr, Jim Nabors sing "Back
Home Again In Indiana".
Then drove to Mayberry, I mean Linton, IN, where I
finally got to wear my Andy Griffith sleep-pants (from
Weaver's).

A couple Mayberry moments in my small town in Ohio. I went to block a sender
and the email came up block Horatio @ ... All I could think of as I clicked yes
was "Poor Horatio." We all know it's kind of hard to forget half a boy.
Secondly, I collect lions and had a wall calender with Lions that I had to
move. The only place I could find was by my Barney Fife giant poster in the
back entrance hall. He really is Fearless Fife.
Lastly, I was sitting on my front porch watching people and talking on the
phone to a friend, Mr. Bill . I said something about a red motorcycle and
didn't know who it belonged to. Mr. Bill said, Oh we watch and we find out
everything going on with everybody over here. ... just like those gossipin men.
So the next day, I went out I decided to pay attention. I found out who got on
the motorcyle and a picture of the Morrison sisters entered my head. I could
just hear them saying, 'Oh we take walks and we see things.'
Would someone from Mrs. Wiley's email me and the Prayer and Praise line. My
computer was rebooted and I lost all my addresses. Flo ... Barbie Gal ... Kim
and Kit ... are you out there? Send me an email so I can add you all personally
as well as adding the two list. Cathy a.k.a. Skippy, one of Mayberry's Fun
Girls in Ohio.

About Buddy Foster -- I have read the book (a copy I received signed from
Buddy himself), and it's true it has a negative tone, but you have to take
it into context. Although Buddy is a full older brother to Jodie, and they
have the same father and mother, she wasn't born until three years after the
parents divorced. If you want to know the full story, you can e-mail me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] think it's explanation may be a little rough for many
of the readers of the Bulletin Board. I talked to Buddy Foster before and
after I read the book, and he stands by every word in the book. Today, Buddy
Foster is a successful businessman in the construction industry in
Minnesota.

Well it was great to see Jim Nabors here in Indiana for the Indy 500.
His rendition of our state song is a truly wonderful tradition. Its
also quite fitting that he always wears a ballcap when he sings. It is
so reminiscent of his garage cap.
Has there ever been a Gomer Tribute Artist??? Just wondered about that.
I too received Season 2 on DVD, thanks to a birthday present from my
darling person. One thing that is fun to watch (especially in Digital
quality) is the pictures on the wall in the Taylor home (as well as the
Courthouse). In Opie and the Bully, has anyone noticed the picture
right outside Opie's room in the hallway?? It looks familiar but I'm
not sure what it is. Another oddity in this one is a scene of Andy's
room. There appears to be a door to the outside, and you can see a tree
or bush outside. Wouldn't that first step be a lulu from the second
floor?
Its been great to share memories of Howard Morris (and quotes)
May his family continue to be comforted in their loss (and ours)

"Charley you're going to have to get past our DEE-troit team. I don't
know what Miami thinks, but I think we've got her if she don't jump. Or
hit too many three pointers. Series is one to one now, but back in town
on Sunday."
I'll be at the Saturday Spurs' game, and am looking forward to playing the
current champs in the next round. One thing you won't have to worry about with
The Spurs is another fight (like the Pacer's/Piston's debacle), as the Spurs
are true gentlemen. But if they wuz provoked and had to defend themselves,
they'd lay into them Pistons like a windmill in a tornado (except maybe for the
Frenchman, Tony Parker who, like his fellow countrymen, would immediately
surrender!).
Was the only time that basketball was mentioned on TAGS the time when Andy said
to Opie that he wanted a basketball for his birthday, to use with the hoop out
back (which we never saw)? I know baseball and football games were shown, and
golf was mentioned, but I don't remember any basketball shots (especially
strange since NC is a college B-ball haven.

Some of you folks suggested throwing a rock in honor of Ernest T. Bass. As you
may have heard, Eddie Albert passed away a few days ago. I was working in my
garden over the weekend and I felt like I ought to go in and put on a suit in
honor of Oliver Wendell Douglas.
