My favorite dads:

Andy Taylor
Sam Jones
Lester Scobey
Floyd Lawson (had a boy named Norman who dropped a fly ball)
Mr. Muggins (in jail in the Christmas episode)
Doc Baker

And there are more.....Notice any similarities? Right - they are good
fathers because they were all smart enought to raise their kids in Mayberry!!!

Brad "Neil Bentley" Cunningham

"but language could have been a whole lot less blue!"

That's the first time I've heard that expression, but I know the origination of
it. It has to have come about because of Barney's dog named Blue. That dog
was so aggrivating he could've made people cuss.

Thanks alot Blue!

Look for it under the Miracle Salve name. (It cures the mange also!) They
bought out O.J.'s in a hostile corporate takeover engineered by department
store tycoon Ben Weaver. The legal work was handled by an ambulance chaser
named Neil Bentley. Weaver has exclusive marketing and distribution rights to
carry the product in his stores. However, I hear you can get a jar on the
black market from an independent named Bert who operates mainly out of a
suitcase. He's a good guy...not too pushy.

Hello. This is my first time writing. I have fun reading all the great things
people have to say about Mayberry. My input is that for my husbands Christmas
present last year I gave him a trip to Mayberry. We stayed in Andy's Homeplace
where he and his parents lived from 1935-1966. Andy lived there until 1944. It
was expensive but worth it. We went to the Andy Griffith museum, Andy's
Playhouse, the Snappy Lunch, Aunt Bea's, the Bluebird Diner, and Floyd's barber
shop. Walked up and down main street and had the time of our lives in Mayberry
(mt. airy, n.c.). We were there from may 19-22, 2005. I even made up our own
Mayberry shirts! My husband is the biggest Andy Griffith fan and now I am as
well. Denise

Does YOUR barber have a bunch of rules when you visit the shop?

No drink, careful with them magazines, you're expected to leave when he's
through with you?

Then come to THE barber. "Floyd's"

Floyd's got magazines meant to be dog-earred, got plenty of room and
hospitality so you can sit a spell afterwards and if you're hot and
thirsty.....You just bring that icy pop right on in! Floyd don't mind!
(Floyd gets thirsty too, so bring him one! He'd appreciate it!)

Floyd's Barber Shop. Where everyone is treated like a friend!
Mayberry. Closed Sundays.

I'd wonder what it would be like if Andy was my dad, BUT in his Lonesome
Rhodes character from Elia Kazan's 'A Face in the Crowd.' I'd probably run away

from home.
