I don't believe there'd be any dinosaurs in Aunt Bee's museum. I imagine the
exhibits would include: a half a bottle of Indian elixir, the picture Opie
took of her prize rose (along with a copy of the rose poem she recited), one of
those unopened jars of pickles, a well worn beloved bed jacket, menu's from her
short lived restaurant and video footage of her City Council campaign.

An Aunt Bee museum might also include her Toot, Toot Tootsie piano, original
sheet music for Clara and her's My Home Town song, the box of glass canning
jars that Andy gave her and the old "Sarah" telephones from the house.

Hey, Albert! How come Floyd has flavored lather? Is it because Andy always
tried to eat it when he was a kid? (I think Floyd said that Andy tried to eat
the lather because he thought it was ice cream.) I'll have the wintergreen,
please.
I haven't gotten Season 2 yet, but I believe I saw it mentioned that they may
package Seasons 2 and 3 together? Anyone know anything about that? I am happy
for those of you who have gotten 2 already, but I do wish I were there watching
with you. There is no one in my family who quite appreciates TAGS the way you
all do. I love this bulletin board! Thanks again, Allan.
Next year is our 30th wedding anniversary and my daughter asked if we were
going to do anything special. I told her that I might make her dad take me to
Mt. Airy. What a nice thing to dream about. I would love to attend a Mayberry
Days and meet some of my Mayberry friends.
Kind behind the eyes.

Actually Goob was a good teacher at driving, he taught Aunt Bee how to
drive, and she passed her test LOL.

Hey Carol! (1.) Congrats on your upcoming 30th wedding anniversary!
(2.) Floyd's offers the wintergreen lather for the customer
who wants something a little different from the usual. Now rest assured,
Floyd is traditional as the striped barber pole out front but he thought
wintergreen would be a nice, little extra. Floyd opted AGAINST peppermint
lather as being "too Hollywood"!

Yep. I'd rank him up there with Andy Taylor even though with his problems he
had, which I strongly suspect might have been trumped up by his detractors.
Had we had a Sheriff Andy Taylor of today, he'd be just as tough as Sheriff
Hege, and so would Deputy Barney Fife, cause the crime is different today,
and a whole lot worse then was during the days of TAGS.
I would love to see Gerald Hege run again. I bet he would get elected. I
know I'd vote for him.
I'd vote for an Andy Taylor too. but I'll plug our sheriff too, Sheriff Lou
Falgoust. He's a really good guy.
I sent Sheriff Hege an e-mail on his show one time, regarding a Mitchell
Rupe who robbed and killed 2 bank tellers out in Washington State. He was
sentenced to death by hanging in Washington State. Went into Prison at 250
lbs and ballooned up to 410 LBS by eating junk food, primarily potato chips.
Rupe then went into court saying he was too fat to hang, then the judge sent
it back to the jury for resentencing and vacated his death sentence. the
Jury then voted by one juror to give him life. People were irate that this
creep got off death row. Hege read my e-mail on his show, and showed video
footage of Rupe and then said he had the solution, bring a crane into the
center of town and drop Rupe about 75 feet.
Perhaps one saw this episode. It's the only time I made a national TV show.
Sheriff Hege and Sheriff Taylor has one thing in common, both hate
criminals, and deal with them as they need to do so. We need more sheriffs
like these people.
I love Sheriff Hege's sign "Happy Ramadan" I got it saved.

Beings Otis is the only one in jail, he let himself out for the festivities.
Inspector Case don't like it, but who cares.

He advertised it like Arpaio does. I'd agree with ya tho, Buford Pusser was
perhaps the toughest sheriff in America. I don't know whether Pusser made
things rough in jail tho like Hege did and Arpaio does. www.mcso.org

I hadn't heard it was his last term, but speaking as a local, all I can say is
"thank goodness"...
Sheriff Joe might have need for Hege's old Mayberry Squad car, since he drove
his squad car into a wall recently...

Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., was set on a U.S. Marine base between 1964 and 1969,
but neither Gomer nor any of his fellow soldiers ever mentioned the war in
Vietnam.---taken from the TAGS site below.
Actually Vietnam was mentioned several years later on TVLand's tribute to
TAGS
The US Marines that Gomer marched with in the opening credits of Gomer
Pyle,USMC were real marines and actually did go to Vietnam-----some never
returned :-(
When I heard that, I felt really sad. Our troops actually gave support to
this show by appearing in it.
Semper Fi
This is one reason why I have a visible hatred for the leftist anti-war
America Haters. They don't even support our troops.
Support our troops. www.americasupportsyou.mil -----(From President Bush's
speech tuesday Nite. June 28th) www.osot.org I encourage all Mayberrians to
go to each of these 2 sites.

This site left out another major character, the 1st Mayor of Mayberry, Mayor
Pike. Not sure what happened to him, cause Stoner came in afterwaurds.

We have another show where brides were rounded up from town for a farmer's
sons.
Gunsmoke's episode "The Wiving"
Harry Morgan played the farmer.
The brides were "stolen" in Briscoe Darlin style LOL
When Marshal Dillon or Festus finds out, they gonna be in trouble.

I beg to differ on this subject. I think Goober was a perfect choice for a
driving teacher. He taught Aunt Bee to drive. He knows everything about cars
and the best machanic in town. He also preaches not to speed, speed,
speed....Who better.
