Jeff"Skipper"Pruitt, take care of our "little buddy"! We'll miss you both!
Lovely tribute Floyd.
I just realized that since Jeff came down from the mountain to find a Bride,
and Dud and Charlene lived on the mountain, Jeff and Dud probably knew each
other. So I think we can credit TAGS with getting together a comedy team even
before they had the Gilligan's Island TV show as a venue. I can see Jeff
calling Dud "little buddy".
It's amazing how many things can be related back to our favorite show.

Don Knotts is ahead of Michael Richards (Kramer of Seinfeld) by 27% to 21%. So
get on over there and vote. Don is also nominated as Mr. Furley (3's Company)
Here is where to go to vote: It's on the left side of the page.

Dear Folks,
I have been reading the posts and have to disagree with most of you on Peggy
being the best catch for Andy. Yes, she was pretty, a good cook, pleasant on
the eyes, (althought she didn't do a thing for me), has a good job and a great
car, but I think she would have gotten tired of the country life. Remenber,
she liked to eat those snails and such and I don't think the diner had those on
their menu. She might have liked Mayberry for a short time, but I can't see
her there for the long haul. I know most of you thought Andy and Helen didn't
have much chemistry, but I thought they did. They argued some and Helen was
jealous a few times, but she just seemed to me to belong in Mayberry. Give
Helen another chance!!

Hey Ya'll,
I am not a good trained noticer, but, I was watching the color episode of
The Andy Griffith Show last night, and I am really aggrivated!! This was
the episode where Warren has E.S.P. When Andy and Helen were packing the
squad car for their picknick, they couldn't get the trunk to close. I ask
"Where's the back seat"? Was it full? It looked like it was empty. Now I
would have thought to transfer some of those picknick items to the back seat
or front seat. Then when Andy took off in Goober's truck, he didn't close
the tailgate. Seems to me all that stuff would have just flown off the back
as Andy sped away. Am I a Kook? or has anyone else noticed this. Then when
they were eating in the diner and Andy says he should have ordered
soup...wasn''t that Helen's cue to cut her darling person's meat?

Here's something else interesting: Denver was on "Dobie Gillis" as Maynard
until 1963. (Many on the classic TV lists I've seen actually argue that was
his
best work.)
The season before TAGS, Don Knotts and Ron Howard appeared in successive
"Dobie" episods, Knotts as the father of one of Dobie's girlfriends (played by
a
young Denise Alexander, best remembered for "General Hospital").

Very likely Denver's last national TV appearance was on the "TV Land Awards,"
and it was the same year TAGS got the "Legend" award because they showed him
in the audience during that part. The "Baywatch" episode was filmed in the
1990s and I remember seeing it.
