Hey, Erin. We'll keep a good thought for you when you start your new
job. Just remember to go out there and act like sombody. Yes, I always
thought it was funny that whoever wrote the Evie Joy episode thought
it's o.k. for a baby to go a whole twelve hours between feedings. But
then it also also frosts me about the characters of two of the women on
the very next episode. The one where Andy arrranges a date for Howard
and Nurse Fairchild. The way Helen and Mrs. Sprague use emotional
blackmail to get their way. So manipulative. But then, it IS tv and
comedy tv at that, so it has to be broad. But in real life, you would
want to steer clear of people like that. I also find it hilarious that,
even though Mrs. Sprague doesn't want to let go of Howard; when SHE gets
a marriage proposal she drops him like a hot potato to go off with her
new husband. Oh, well, as Barney says, "Women! Wicked, Mean, Spiteful!"
(or something like that).

In response to Mayberry's midwest mocha momma's post below:

I was wondering if ya all noticed this or not....When Aunt Bea is caring for
Evie Joy... Feeding a baby at 8-12-4 & 8 ..... WOW I guess the baby can just
starve until morning huh?

Mayberry's midwest mocha momma, Erin

I didn't notice that, but I was watching the TAGS episode yesterday on TV where
the stranger comes to town and he knew everything about everyone but they
didn't know him, and I noticed something else odd.

The stranger stopped a lady on the street to look at her twin babies in their
carriage and called them by name. By that time there was a crowd of people
following him down the street. The next scene is inside the hotel. The
stranger checks in and goes to his room, and then the door opens to the hotel
and the crowd comes into the lobby. The mother of the twin babies is in that
crowd but she doesn't have the babies with her. Hmmmmmmmmmm Did she leave the
babies in the carriage on the street?

I believe that it is the same woman in the crowd in the lobby who was in the
street with the babies. I may be wrong. Can anyone verify this? Does anyone
have this episode on tape? Is there child neglect in Mayberry? Heaven forbid,
somebody prove me wrong!!!

Taaaterrrrrrrrs!!!!!!!!!

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!

Alan

How many things can you think of that happened in Mayberry and stayed in
Mayberry?

(1) The pickle switch - that stayed a secret!

(2) The date that Barney had with Juanita at Morelli's

(3) The fishing pole for bed jacket trade with the mayor

(4) The fake capture of Helen and Andy from the cave

(5) The brief career Otis had as a deputy while his brother was in town

(6) Aunt Bee's made up romance with the butter and egg man

Aunt Bee was stressin' too much over Evie Joy. That six month old sensed her
nervousness along with not 'BEE'-ing fed overnight. I'd cry too. Only after
Bee thought the infant was an over developed "blue baby" did she bring calm to
 her.
