Hey folks,
I have added some new items to the Mayberry Emporium web site
(www.mayberryemporium.net). We have a neat Antenna Topper, many, many new
signed photos and posters. There are always some "freebies". You just have to
find them. Stop by the Andy Griffith Show Coloring Book section and download a
picture or 2. Color them up and email them to me. I'll put them in the Coloring
Book Gallery. We are also offering the 2005 Mayberry Days Print for only $1.00.
This print features a tribute to our beloved Howard Morris who passed away
earlier this year. The order page says $1.00 with any purchase but if you want
one you can get it by itself.

You may notice some of the photos, etc. not showing up. I will try to fix this
in the next couple of days.

As always, if you are looking for a Mayberry related item, check at Weaver's
Department Store (www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/.com) first. By supporting
Weaver's you make many things possible for us Mayberry Fans. Jim Clark and the
folks at Weaver's offer quality products at a GREAT price. Remember, Christmas
is right around the corner!

We are still working on the Goober Bobble Head project. We are at the slow
moving part of the process. We have the prototype and now it is at Viacom
awaiting approval. Keep your fingers crossed.

Please keep our Mayberry family and friends in your prayers. And if you have a
chance to go out and see some of our favorite actors in person, do yourself a
favor and do it.

Mayberry says "Thanks and Happy Motoring"

I was watching the episode where Gomer replaces Barney as the soloist. It's
the same episode where Barney has Elenora Poltice as his voice teacher. Anyway,
it always jumps out at me how rude Hazel is. Mr. Masters and Gomer both speak
to her but she never says a word. When she leaves practice after Gomer
auditions for Mr. Masters, Gomer says, "'night, mam" and she just walks out
with her
back real straight, never acknowledging his politeness. I don't think she was
FROM Mayberry.

I caught part of the CMT show about country comedy. Lydia, I'd forgotten about
your aversion to guitar music. I wonder what causes that.

This kissing talk reminded me of other romantic moments. I think the sweetist
was when Gomer brought Mary Grace a corsage and told her it wouldn't be right
for her to go to the dance unadorned. Thelma Lou told Barney that Mary Grace
was a wonderful girl, I think Gomer was able to see it.

I recently visited Niagara Falls, Ontario for a few days and saw a cheap,
plastic bag raincoat autographed by Ron Howard when he visited 'Journey Behind
the Falls' at Horseshoe Falls. He signed it "What a trip! Ron Howard." He wore
a much better quality raincoat 31 years earlier during the filming of the
TAGS episode 'A Black Day for Mayberry.' Of course, his "Pa" was born the same
day and year as Marilyn Monroe, June 1, 1926. Marilyn appeared in the 1953
released film 'Niagara.' She was down behind those falls too. Actor Casey
Adams appeared in both 'Niagara' and TAGS. ("Get out the fire hose!") Above the

Horseshoe Falls further upstream the Niagara River sat crotchety, old Ben
Weaver (Will Wright) who saw one of his boats stolen by Joseph Cotten.
Marilyn drove her husband, played by Cotten, crazy. Joseph Cotton was 21
years older than Marilyn. He could have married someone closer his age, like
Aunt Bee, but the age factor doesn't mean anything in a relationship. Marilyn
was simply flirtin' around. Bee was only 3 years older than Cotten.
While we're on the subject of Bee, the first person to venture over the
falls was Annie TAYLOR. She heavily resembled Aunt Bee at the time she plunged
over the rapids in 1901. Look it up!
