Hmmm, maybe she's from "somewheres else." Ah, ya never know what causes
somebody to act the way they do. Maybe she had a sour stomach or
something. Seriously, I 'spect that it's kinda like the arrangement with
the Darlings. It's my understanding that, under screen guild rules or some
such things, actors would have had to be paid more if they'd spoken (even
though Aunt Bee really did make"great beans").

Don Good
...or maybe she was in a hurry to get to her date with Mr. Schwamp.

My darling person told me I'd be getting a slightly belated birthday
present soon. Saturday, when I saw a package from Weaver's, I was pretty
sure I knew what it was. I've got seasons one and two, so I'd been hinting
about season three for a while...that or a basketball, and the package
wasn't the right size for a basketball. Yep, good ol' season three...and
sleep pants, to boot! Except for church, I wore the sleep pants most of
the weekend. I thought I'd keep them on as long as Barney didn't wash his
hands after shaking the governor's. For some reason though, she said I
ought not to wear the sleep pants to work, so I've got on the old salt and
pepper today. I won't be doing any dipping though. I work at a Baptist
institution, and you know how they feel about dancin' (just kidding, lest
anyone take that too seriously).

BTW, someone on this list asked if there was a scene with at good shot of
the cell keys. There's a real good one of them in one of the commercials.

I appreciate it, and good night.

Don Good
(who can't wait 'til Christmas for season four....hint, hint...)

I am sooooo confused. A while back I watched a rerun of an interview
about TAGS including an interview with Andy. He said that the make up man
played Banjo with the Dillards on an episode. They even centered in on a
photo of the banjo player when they were playing in a jail scene.
I always thought a Dillard brother or a Dillard band member played Banjo.
Andy said it was Greenway, I
think he said the man's name was.
I am not thinking about The Country Boys, either. Andy said the make up
man did it!

Funny, how so many of the great ones were in a row...I always liked the B&W
episodes better, but the writing was gooood in the color ones, too. A couple
of nights ago, in the Howard the comedian, Floyd said "I am so tired I can
hardly keep my mouth open". Just kills me. LOL

Hey Brian,

Gee, I got to read about the movie Niagra and The Falls, one of my favorite
movies and places to visit, on an email digest related to my favorite TV show.
It doesn't
get much better than that. Thanks!

You got me to thankin' with that bucket on my head and here are a few more
connections between TAGS and Niagra.

1) Henry Beckman was an unrcedited motorcycle cop in Niagra and played Mr
Gilbert in the episode Aunt Bee, the Juror. Could also swear he played a
motorcycle cop on another TAGS episode but couldn't find any proof.
2) Lurene Tuttle played Mrs Kettering in Niagra and Annabelle Silby in Opie's
Charity.
3) Lurene Tuttle was the shoplifter in The Shoplifters episode.
4) Lurene also played Natalie Miller in The Ghost and Mr Chicken.

So many connections and so little time... ;-)

Speaking of failed businesses, what about Mrs Mendlebrights basement mushroom
business.
And I think on the same episode Andy or Barney was talking about someone
grinding up old tires to make
rugs or something out of them.

Gomer and his giving Mary Grace the corsage was probably his finest moment.
Gomer is funny, honest and a talented singer but his interaction with Mary
Grace showed him to have heart and sincerity that you would be hard pressed
to find in the other adult characters.
Gomer sure showed a lot of class! (A.A. MPk.)
