Let's all thank our Veteran's today.
Not only the ones on TAGS, but also to the ones who are not on the show.

C-Span will be airing the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony at
8:00 AM and 11:00 PM on Saturday.
Unfortunately, I cannot get C-Span. If someone could make me a DVD (preferred)
or videotape of the show I'd be happy to pay for the disk or tape and postage.
Thanks. Cathy J. Schreima, a.k.a. Skippy, one of Mayberry's Fun Girl's in Ohio.

Last evening I was digging through old vhs tapes (yes, we still have a VCR and
I know what century it is). I pulled out a tape with some TAGS episodes to
look at and realized I must have taped it from TV several years ago. It was
from TBS and intersperced in the episode were people that I believe were taped
at Mayberry Days. There was a "Floyd" like fellow who I suspect is Allan, a
gentleman cooking what I suspect were porkchop sandwiches, and an Otis, Andy
and Barney look alike amongst other kids and adults. Unfortunately someone
taped over the rest of the tape so I probably lost a lot of spots done by
Mayberrians.

I really was tickled to see it and was wondering if anyone knows what year this
was from.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but is there any explanation as to
why Clara's last name changed from Johnson to Edwards? Or why her first name
changed from Bertha to Clara?

This is about an episode of Bonanza that was PROBABLY an idea for an
episode of TAGS or MAYBE vice-versa.
Yesterday (11-10-05) morning I was up early and watched an episode of
Bonanza.  It had Mayor Stoner (Parley BAER) {mighta misspelled his name}
as a member of the town council. He was appointed to tell the sheriff
that he was too old to be effective, AND not too good with a gun
anymore. The council wanted to fire the sheriff, but (Mayor Stoner)the
council spokesperson was talked into letting the sheriff stay on, with
somebody (Adam) to help.
As the story progresses, the sheriff figured out how to stop a bank
robbing gang......WITH OUT A GUN! Sheriff Coffey outsmarted the gang
and did not fire a shot; IN FACT, the whole scene hinged on the fact
that the SHERIFF DID NOT have a gun!(He carried out the capture
without his gun). And when Mayor Stoner had to apologize to the sheriff
and admit that he was wrong (JUST like he did on TAGS), Mayor Stoner
(the leader of the town council) made a point of the fact that the
sheriff did it AS "A SHERIFF WITH OUT A GUN".!
This eposide was dated 1964,if my memory serves me correctly.
COULD it have been that the actor who played Mayor Stoner took the IDEA of
this Bonanza episode and transferred to TAGS, OR could he have contributed
the TAGS idea of Sheriff without a gun and put it into the Bonanza
episode?
Both my husband and I think THAT might have been the case. WE are
interested, so I thought I would write and ask some of the experts who
write wonderful stuff to the newsletter.

Hey folks,

Just so you don't think you've missed it yet....according to the C-Span
web site the ceremony will be shown at 8 P.M. and 11 P.M EST on
Saturday...not 8 A.M.

You still have a chance!! Thanks to Bart for the heads up!!!

"Nothin' I hate worse than a wino on a cryin' jag...."

A few months ago, I was rocking my infant godson, who was crying quite loudly
at the time, and I said this quote, only I replaced "wino" with "baby". Then
my husband and I were trying to place the quote and we couldn't. Which episode
does this quote come from and who said it?

While we're on the subject of "B" movies, don't forget Aneta Corsaut (Helen
Crump) appearing in the 1974 T.V. movie 'Bad Ronald.' Ronald was peeking
through those peep holes in his house through secret passage ways at the new
owners. He had a thing for the girls, but really didn't want to cause any
harm.
He only killed his sister by accident. I saw this when this originally aired
on ABC as an eight year old.
