Guess I should have known better than to try and
stump the master! Another connection to Andy (not
TAGS) is Kathleen Freeman who played Sister Mary
Stigmata (aka The Penguin) on Blues Brothers was Lucy
Lewis on Matlock: The Witness Killings.

My favorite one time character is Senator John Canfield. I was so sorry he
didn't return as a regular. I think he and Aunt Bee made a very fine pair.
She deserved a sweet gentleman figure and he certainly fit that bill.

Hey Pauline and everyone,
It's my opinion that this is a healthy addiction so I'm gonna keep it, even
though my friends and family think I'm a little over the edge. Think it has
anything to do with my life-size Barney Fife poster that is laminated and
hanging
in my study? Or my tag holder on my car that says "I'd rather be watching the
Andy Griffith Show"? Or the fact that the background noise in my house is
completely comprised of TAGS reruns?
Oh well, we all have our little habits, don't we?

Re: I'm very disappointed because the laugh tracks were left off.
Oh, come on now - I wish you'd reconsider. Laugh tracks is an insult
to our intelligence. Imagine something telling us when to laugh! My
second favorite sitcom "M*A*S*H", filmed one episode without a laugh
track and for my money, I wish both them and "TAGS" had filmed every
episode without one (and in black & white)!
Utilizing the "one camera technique" of filming, like both shows did,
they already resembled a movie rather than a TV show - now let's do
without the guffaws!

LAPD used those on Adam-12 and there was a Ford on Dragnet although LAPD
used Chrysler in it's fleet, they now use all American makes.
I bet LAPD is one of the big city PD's where you can still find old cars
still in it's fleet.

<< the name is Mr. Schwump not Mr. Schwamp LOL >>
Actually, the name is "Schwamp." In the latest edition of Jim Clark and Ken
Beck's book "The Andy Griffith Show" Book they corrected the spelling from
Schwump to Schwamp because they found a script that had the Schwamp spelling.
The episodes and the scripts are the "bible" for Mayberry spelling.
