Floyd is no doubt one of the funniest characters in the
history of television. Watch his facial expressions when
someone else is speaking or watch the way he's always
nervously pulling up on his pants. What a great comedic
actor!

Allan, Terrifc job on the Christmas Card. Just got to see it for the first
time and have forwarded it to several friends and family. Loved the
inclusion of the angels. Merry Christmas to all.

Allan, you really outdid yourself with this years card!! I loved it, and yet
it brought a tear to my eye to think about the loss we all experienced with the
passing of Daphne/ Jean Carson and Ernest T./Howard Morris. Don't you know
heaven is a brighter place with our "doll" there as well as Ernest T. as he
giggles and "dances". I am so grateful to you Allan for all of the hard work
you put into making the digest and all of the other Mayberry places to visit
possible. Thanks to Jan and Adam too for the fact that they are willing to
share you and your talents with all of us.

I also want to say I appreciate Jim and his answers to the many hard
questions about TAGS that we sometimes come up with. I think back to Mayberry
Days 2004 when our Andy pointed Jim out in the crowd, Wowee I feel sure that
that was special to you Jim.

We surely are a very blessed group of people to have found a place like the
digest where we can visit with other folks who love TAGS and love talking about
it every day. I don't know what I would do without all of you, because I am
the only TAGS fan at my house. Being able to discuss the show with all of you
and read your comments is a highlight of my day.... I guess as our Andy used to
say about Ritz crackers... it's gooooooood!!!!!

  Merry Christmas,
  Anita Carpenter

I've noticed sometimes, Barney's badge is centered over his pocket, and then ,
at other times--it's all the way over to one side. I don't understand it--I
just don't understand it. Gomer

I just want to say that your efforts this year (like every year) were
outstanding. That card is "the cat's"

I sent the link to several people and you obviously got rave reviews.

Maybe you'll get into publishing and we'll have to find you a pen name,
Allan.

Allaine Alexian Dubois comes to mind

Merry Christmas and Thanks Again

I appreciate it.

I like that young, vibrant Floyd when he's giving his boy that quick pep
talk before the sax audition for the "talent scout" shoe salesman. (Floyd
is classic Mayberry!!) --- (A.A. MPk.)

I made a list of things that you would not see in Mayverry, and now here is a
list of things you WOULD find in Mayberry.

Andy and Aunt Bee sitting on the porch.
Briscoe Darling playing the jug.
Clara Edwards working in her garden.
Deputy Fife keeping Mayberry safe.
Elanore Walker behind the soda fountain.
Floyd Lawson keeping cutting hair.
Goober and Gomer enjoying a bottle of pop.
Howard Sprague and his mother dining out.
Irene Flogg making it big as a movie star.
Jimmy the Goat eating dynamite.
Karen Forgerty falling down on the playground.
Leon eating a jelly sandwich.
Mr. McBeevey walking in the trees.
Next door neighbors visiting across the fence.
Opie cleaning the blackboards for Miss Crump.
Picnics on Founders Day
Quiet streets after ten o'clock at night.
Radios playing Leonard Blush music.
Sandwiches made with homemade bread.
Telephones with a two party line.
Uniforms worn without a tie.
Voices singing good old 14A
White shirts and ties worn on every date.
X's and O's on the bottom of notes.
Youngsters playing all over town without any fears.
Zippered galoshes on a rainy day.

Warning: Brag comin' up.

The name of Andy Griffith was intoned at the UNC Chapel Hill Dramatic Art
Department graduation ceremony. My daughter--Abigail Marie Taylor--graduated
Sunday (did I mention Phi Beta Kappa), and we are all so proud of her. Next
stop The Big Apple.
