hello,

Gibson's Wild West Spectacular came to Mayberry last night, not my favorite
episode but i cherish something in all of them. But i Really admired the Wild
West Show's advertising posters [one was given to Floyd]; i am a fan of the
west and TAGS is my favorite show of all time; just wondering, what are the
chances that one of those posters might still be available?? i'd love to get
one.

I thought Earle Hagen's music in this episode, as usual, was incredible!

thanks for your time,
Brian in Gladys, Virginia

Re: I've always thought of TAGS as representing the early '60s, which
is when it first ran on TV.

While it was obviously topical, the show was also timeless. It could
have just as easily taken place in the 1930's. In fact, that might
have been a better fit. But it just goes to show why the series
doesn't date - it's not "stuck" in the sixties. It truly is timeless.

Hello to our Mayberry family. News like this is so hard to pass on. As
most of you know I had posted the condition of a very dear friend and a
fellow Mayberrian,
Beverly Higgins. Beverly had suffered a stroke a while back after
undergoing surgery and was placed on a ventilator. I am sad to report that
Beverly died Saturday morning at 3:30am, she had another massive stroke
which had left her brain dead and they family removed her from the
ventilator after the doctors had told them that she would never make a
recovery. Most of you that stay at the Hampton Inn will know this family.
Her son, Scott and his girlfriend Cory always stayed there too. Beverly's
daughter, Kim and her two sons along with Scott and Cory always placed in
the bowling tournament. Beverly and her husband, Roger along with Cory and
Scott always placed in the golf tournament. She was a very special lady and
will be greatly missed. Please remember this family during this difficult
time. She will be laid to rest Tuesday, August 3rd. in Robinson Twp., PA.
If anyone would like to send the Higgins family cards, I'm sure they would
appreciate it greatly.

This may not be a true-to-life "by the book" Mayberry post, but if one of our
neighbors can be spared some financial and personal ruin, then it's worth it.
A new email is being sent out to Ebay members. The FROM I received is
A1K2CT#aol.com. **Note I inserted # rather than @ so not to create a
hyperlink**. The SUBJECT line I received is Billing Update NJGGSJ, and the
header is "Below is the result of your feedback form. It was submitted by
(A1K2CT#aol.com) on Sunday, August 1, 2004 at 00:22:44" I did not include the
message, but I did report it to Ebay, AOL, and my ISP. Ebay was quick in
responding back stating the message was a fake. The link included in the
message sends you to a tripod.com site with a very authentic-looking Ebay page.
IT IS A FAKE! They are asking for ALL of your credit card info, etc.,
including your ATM PIN, 3-digit security code, Ebay password, etc. Don't do
it, fellow Mayberrians.....it's a scam. I hope everyone passes this message on
to th!
eir Ebaying friends too! **BarnLaVergne, TN

Hey Anita it looks like you got two sets of laws in
your town "One for the Po-leece and one for the
ordinary citizen.
             Mike Z.
"There ought to be a number law that covers that!"

Hey Folks,

The Mayberry Emporium website has been updated for August. A few new items.
Mayberry Gazettes signed by Betty Lynn and James Best. A neat 20" x 30" print
signed by James Best. A few new autographed photos.

We still have the great audio transcription disk set. This is a great find
for Mayberry fans.

There are still some neat "freebies" hidden on the site that haven't been
claimed yet. All you have to do is find the hidden page and be the first to
email me with the correct answer to the trivia question. Up for grab are items
including the great hardcover book "Mayberry My Hometown" by Steve Spignesi and
 a George Lindsey autograph card.

Buy from Weaver's Department Store first

_www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers_ (http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers)

then come on by the Mayberry Emporium.

Thanks,

Gary

I just got back from seeing "The Village," featuring Ron Howard's eldest
daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard. I can't say I loved the film that much ( it's a
little dark for me), but Ms. Howard was fun to watch. She's a cutie. Here is
an interesting article on her, in which it is revealed that the Howards' real
name is Beckinholt. That was news to me:
