Made my day...Beverly Heights Aunt Bee<<<
--Hey Thank BH-AB for bringin the Olympics back up in conversation. I
started the Mayberry Olympics moulage, but after my opening ceremonies post,
it got kinda dropped like a shot put ball, so I thought maybe folks had
heard enough about "that tomato".
But you reminded me of another Olympic thought or two. Andy should be part
of the rowing team, after all that practice with Gertrude......He's a great
rower.
I finally figured out Aunt Bee's event...the Homemaker Heptathlon. As you
may know the Heptathlon is a ladies event where they compete in 7 different
skills. Now if ya'll want, someone can help determine what the 7 skills
would be in the Homemaker Heptathlon. (all things that Aunt Bee is good as,
so I don't know if we should include canning pickles???)
And keep the Indian Elixar away from her. We don't want her failing the
drug test after she wins.
Welcome to all the new members. Our town is your town. Just jump in where
you can and hang on.

Teresa,
I may have missed your post on it, but did you have the Mayberry dinner for
the reverend yet? If so, how did it go?

Teresa, I was able to get my cap through the Naval recruiter in my area. By
your email address, I'm guessing you're in High Point. The Naval recruiter I
went through was over on Frontage Road just off I-40 near highway 68 (exit
210), close to Oakwood Homes. I ordered my cap badge from Robert's Uniforms in
Winston-Salem. BTW, I used to do a Barney Fife impersonation when I was at
WMAG radio. I did have to modify the cap some by simply removing the shied
backing off the front. I still have mine, but don't use it much anymore.
Can't get into the uniform. It appear to have shrunk, especially around the
waist..... just by hanging in the closet! I wonder what causes that? Haha

I want to issue a word of caution to Teresa from Greensboro. If you obtain a
deputy hat, without becoming an officially sworn in Deputy Sheriff, you may be
in violation of a number law and subject to Citizen's Arrest.
Kim - Wylie, TX
PS: You also may find you have a compelsion to obtain other uniform items.

Hubby and I watched Ginger Rogers/Ray Miland? in
'The Major & The Minor' (cir 1940), last night. I sure
sit up, took extra notice and then chuckled, when Susie
(Ginger Rogers) said, "I was in a play once. It was 'Six
Who Pass While The Lentils Boiled'....
Sure like to know if the writer on TAGS got the idea to
use that play title from that old movie....
I bet Aunt Bee was as good in her part as Ginger any ol' day!
