One of my favorite episodes was the one on last night. Barney's
physical. But one thing always bothers me. When floyd says "where were
you on Monday?" I have a feeling that it's in referance to a seen that
was cut out by tvland. Anyone know for sure?
Thanks :-)

I'm with you, Kim. I'm not real "green-eyed" because my family commitments
don't permit me to go very many places, period, but I sure would like to be
at the Mayberry Days this week! So, here's my pout to add to the
collection! :- (

Hi All,
We are leaving Indianapolis in just a few hours for Mt Airy. Hope to meet many
of you there. Please let Briscoe (and Briskette) know you are a member of
WBMUTBB when you see us. We can hardly wait. This is more than "BIG"

Say a person was riding the fence regarding going to Mayberry Days and didn't
have tickets for anything . . . . Would there be enough stuff to do for
someone who just took a notion to show up. And what about lodging? I know
there are more places to stay than "the hotel" and the Blue Vue (that place out
on the highway, which doesn't seem to be there anymore). "The person" might
stay in Winston-Salem and drive up to have a look around, mightn't they?

Still thinking about going to Mayberry Days. Maybe y'all who have been there
can advise me.

The following information is provided by the Mount Airy News and is important
for everyone planning to attend the TV Land statue unveiling at Mayberry Days
on Friday. It may be on the SAC website by the time the Digest goes out along
with the City's map with parking lots identified.

There should not be any breaking news about the festival, but I will update the
SAC website to keep everyone informed online if there is.

MOUNT AIRY — The city of Mount Airy and the Mount Airy Police Department
announced the street closings and procedures that will be used Friday when Andy
Griffith is in town.
Griffith will be here for the unveiling of a statue courtesy of TV Land that
depicts Sheriff Andy Taylor and his son, Opie, walking toward their favorite
fishing hole. The statue will be presented on a stage behind City Hall in a
ceremony that begins at 9:30 a.m. It will then be moved across the street to
its permanent home in front of the Andy Griffith Playhouse.

The site of the dedication will be closed to the public on Thursday. It will
open for seating at 7:30 Friday morning.

Beginning at 5 a.m. Friday, Spring Street from Church Street to Rockford Street
will be closed to traffic. It will reopen early Friday afternoon.

Depending on the size of the crowd, Mount Airy Police Captain Roger McCreary
said the department could close Graves Street and Rockford Street from South
Main to Granite.
“We’ll have prepositioned equipment to do that and people to do that,” McCreary
said.
The department will also close a portion of Carl Lee Griffith Court, named in
honor of Andy Griffith’s father.

In addition, City Hall will be closed to the public from 8 a.m. to noon on
Friday.
McCreary also cautioned people participating in Saturday’s Mayberry Days parade
not to throw candy, noting that children tend to run out in the street without
looking to get the sweets, putting themselves in danger.

Mary Grace ended her post with a quote from the Opie's Newspaper episode, then
I saw this and couldn't help but be reminded of All Souls Church. However I
know Mayberry's Reverend couldn't have been this dry!

A paramedic was asked on a local TV talk-show program:
"What was your most unusual and challenging 911 call?"

"Recently we got a call from that big white church at 11th
and Walnut," the paramedic said. "A frantic usher was very
concerned that during the sermon an elderly man passed out
in a pew and appeared to be dead. The usher could find no
pulse and there was no noticeable breathing."

"What was so unusual and demanding about this particular
call?" the interviewer asked.

"Well," the paramedic said, "we carried out four guys
before we found the one who was dead."

>>>In the episode "Barney's Replacement" where he quits as a deputy and tries
>>>to sell vacuum cleaners, there is a scene where he is trying to sell one to
>>>Clara. Barney is on her front porch. We never see more of the house than
>>>that, but just from the front porch, I can tell that it is the house next to
>>>Andy's house. It is the same house Mrs. Wiley lived in. Also living in that

>>>in the episode "The Bed Jacket", and the family with the two girls that move
>>>in during the episode "Opie and Mike" (a color episode).<<<

Wow, Mary Grace, not only are you "nice, real nice," but you are also a very
keener observer (or, in technical lingo, a trained noticer). Do you think all
those folks lived there at the same time?? It did seem like a pretty big
house. Seriously, postings like yours make me realize how much I miss of TAGS
not having cable or even regular TV reception. That's right, I have to rely
solely on my Columbia House tapes, plus some episodes my sister has recorded
for me off TV, for my TAGS viewing pleasure. (I know that must be shocking to
some of you! And, no, we don't live under a rock in outer Mongolia.) This is
why I am *SO* looking forward to the DVD sets coming out. I can hardly wait!

I like to play word games on my computer while watching TAGS. Last night, I
was playing one where the computer gives you seven letters and you have to
unscramble them and make a word (great practice for Scrabble!)

So anyway, I was playing this game last night while watching "Dinner at
Eight" (the spaghetti episode) and the following seven letters came up:

AEGNOOR

It didn't take me too long to figure out that one.
