>>>When floyd says "where were you on Monday?" I have a feeling that it's in
referance to a seen that
was cut out by tvland. Anyone know for sure? Thanks :-)
You're exactly right, a scene was cut out. There's a scene earlier where
Floyd is talking to some of the others, and he mentions that Barney did not
show up at his usual time. Floyd says that Barney always gets his haircut
every third Monday.

The question is on the table, Are we at home jealous of those who get to go
to Mayberry Days, and in addition to all the regular festivities see the man
himself, Andy Griffith at the statue dedication. And thus are we pouting??
Me Jealous???
Just because I've never been to Mt Airy, let alone Mayberry Days.
Just because it will probably be one of the rare 'few in a lifetime" chances
for a fan such as me to see Andy.
Just because I've never seen the parade or any of the shows. Jealous?
Just because my wife would think I'm a nut for ever suggesting traveling
there from Indiana.
Well...Do you remember Thelma Lou and Helen when they first saw Barney and
Andy with the Fun Girls?
Do you remember how Barney was when Jeff Pruitt was trying to steal his
girl, Thelma Lou?
Do you remember Andy, when Briscoe was going to hitch his girl Helen with
one of the boys?
Do you remember Opie when Mary Alice lied to him and went to the dance with
Fred ???
Do you remember Opie when Andy took Trey out on the lake run, and he missed
out?
Remember Ernest T Bass, when he wanted to marry Charlene and she was already
married to Dud?
Pouting?? Upset?? Just roll all those together, that's about how I feel.
Well Heck Fire, remember Barney when he didn't get that raise?
Remember Barney when he thought Andy didn't want him to go fishin with he
and Opie on Saturday?
Remember Barney when Opie kept monopolizing time with Thelma Lou?
That vein on my neck is poppin out again, ain't it?
Of course I'm Jealous and upset and feel hurt and underprivileged ...but
Al least we've got our Health and our Pep, and lots of good weather ahead.
Between TVLand and my local UPN station I get 2-3 Andy's a day. I have
about 240 on tape.
Soo I guess I'll live.
Have fun you lucky devils!!!

We don't have any t.v. reception here either, Thelma Lou, and we definitely
don't live under a rock! :)
If all the t.v. shows on in today's day and age, were like TAGS, we would ..
.. but they're not ..... so we don't. Somehow I don't think Aunt Bea and
Andy would allow today's programming into their house either. Not good for
Opie.... or Aunt Bea and Andy, for that matter.
Long live VHS tapes and players!!

Seriously, postings like yours make me realize how much I miss of TAGS not
having cable or even regular TV reception. That's right, I have to rely
solely on my Columbia House tapes, plus some episodes my sister has recorded
for me off TV, for my TAGS viewing pleasure. (I know that must be shocking
to some of you! And, no, we don't live under a rock in outer Mongolia.)
This is why I am *SO* looking forward to the DVD sets coming out. I can
hardly wait!

From the big house..Now I think all of us that can't make it to
Mayberry Days should have just one big pout.. Don't hold back !!
We wish all of you that are going .a wonderful time. but I for one am
green with envy. Course me and some of the girls had it all worked out
to get a leave to come down with a guard. ( we were going to drive old
Bobby Fleets car) but the dang Eubacher brothers started acting up
cause they had sent Ange and Barn a Christmas card and before you
knew it Chickens and legs a lamb were being thrown around. That just
did out trip in. Dern them Eubachers. So all of you that are going
have a Happy Mayberry Days Oh the Eubachers said hey and they are
in stir. Save the last dance for me Maude

Re: Say a person was riding the fence regarding going to Mayberry
Days...
I recently advised someone on this very subject. Let me get this
straight. You live in Knoxville and are considering going to see the
Man Himself!? My advice is as follows: Get thee to Mayberry!!! I can
only stay for half a day (Friday morning) and am driving all the way up
from Palm Beach. Some things are just worth it.

MASSENA, N.Y. (AP) - A decade after his death, Otis Campbell, the town
drunk on "The Andy Griffith Show," is the subject of a new book.
Massena historian and author John Michaud tells the Watertown Daily
Times that actor Hal J. Smith was the "best sober drunk in Hollywood."
Michaud's 72-page book titled "More Than Otis: No Bull! A Salute to
Hollywood Actor Hal J. Smith" is a collection of stories about Smith
culled from a mix of celebrities such as Andy Griffith and local friends
from his northern New York hometown.
Smith graduated from Massena High School in 1936 and went on to a show
business career that spanned nearly five decades. Best known for his
role on Griffith's show as the lovable town drunk Otis who regularly
slept off his intoxication in Mayberry's jail, Smith also appeared on
such television shows as "The Brady Bunch" and "The Addams Family."
Smith also was well-known for his voice-over work in hundreds of
cartoons and animated movies, including "Beauty and the
Beast,""Garfield,""Pink Panther and Friends," and "Winnie the Pooh."
