I agree with everything the untrained voice said (and admire the scope of his
knowledge). Jealousy is even making my blue eyes green!

PS Sorry. Fact is I know more WIZARD lines than TAGS, and I wanted to point
out everything in my house is also jealous.

MASSENA, N.Y. (AP) - A decade after his death, Otis Campbell, the town
drunk on "The Andy Griffith Show," is the subject of a new book.

I heard something about this today on the radio. I was going to post
about it, but then forgot. I think it would be an interesting book to
read. Good ol' Otis!!

Shucky darn, I pouted all last week when I stayed in hotels that did not
offer TVLand on their cable systems (I wonder what causes that?). I left
town in anticipation of Ivan the Terrible and he never came a-knocking
here. But then now that I came back, Jeanne is hinting at a visit! We
just can't win the war of the weather lately. PTL we can escape to
Mayberry in times of trouble.

Ok my fellow Mayberry pouting friends, ok, ok, ok.
All of us who aren't going to Mayberry days are pouting.
We're pouting, pouting, pouting. Oh, I understand it alright,
I really understand it. I went once, in 2000 and every year sense I find my
self pouting at this time of the year.
What are we going to do? Well, just as you would expect from Barney, I have a
couple of ideas. Now follow this carefully and don't write it on the walls,
because it is very
difficult to erase writing off the walls.
First off, the week of Mayberry Days needs to become a
national Holliday. That's right, the whole week, a national
Holliday! That way, no matter where we are, we are in
Mayberry. Now, most of us have nick names such as Thelma Earnest T., Barney
(that's me because for the last 40 years you've been telling me so) etc.

Prepare yourself, this is Big! It's really really BIG!

Therefore, I hear-by declare that the last week in September is National
Mayberry Day.

Now, that puts us all in Mayberry so all that we have to do now is get into our
costumes and make the best of it.

I told you it is Big! Didn't I tell you that? Didn't I tell you that!

Well, here I was pouting and feeling sorry for myself. Having a pity party
complete with rootbeer, but nary a smile or nod. Then I read the post from The
Untrained Voice, and all I can say is "you're a sight".
