I've noticed that Dan's a purdy sharp cookie. So, I took a quick look at
imdb.com and found Dan to be right again. In addition to the much more popular
The Day the Earth Stood Still, Hugh Marlowe was also in the 1956 movie Earth vs
the Flying Saucers (also know as Invasion of the Flying Saucers).

TAGS fans,

The next installment of my novel, "Murder in Mayberry"
will be posted this Thursday (Oct 28). A new
installment will then be put out each Thursday
following (except, maybe Thanksgiving) until all the
chapters are out.

Thanks to everyone who has read it and a special
thanks to everyone who has commented on it!

And, to answer a question that came in, I made an
assumption when writing the story that Foley's and
Doake's were open concurrently. I used to live in a
small town and was reading once that in the 50s and
60s it had 7 grocery stores, all about the size of the
ones pictures on TAGS. Also, Mayberry could support
(at least) two butchers, so why not two (or more)
groceries.

If anyone else comes up with questions like this,
don't hesitate to ask. I'll have an answer (it may be
stupid, but . . . )!

Ron mentioned my Hugh Marlow scifi movie might have been The Day the Earth
Stood Still, but I'd have spotted that classic in 2 seconds. I'd forgotten
Hugh was in that one. I did little research and the actual name of the
movie I saw was Earth vs The Flying Saucers from 1956.
