Out here in Los Angeles, T. V. Land is running the color Andy Griffith's, and I
just saw the Mayberry Union High School Reunion of the Class of '48 episode.
Barney comes down from Raleigh, gets very excited when he hears Thelma Lou is
coming up from Jacksonville (Florida?), then finds out she's been married for 6
weeks. He tries to drown his sorrows in downing cup after cup of punch, until
Andy informs him that the punch contains only fruit juice.

I have a question: Did the subsequent reunion show where Thelma Lou and Barney
become engaged acknowledge Thel's prior marriage in any way, such as mentioning
how Thelma Lou becomes single again and why she moved back to Mayberry? I am
referring to the reunion show where there is some sort of Loch Ness monster
reeking havoc on the townsfolk, and Barney finally pops the question.

Thanks for your help in sorting this out!

Temple

Just a note to Ms. Johanson....Teaberry gum is still available ! You
apparently can purchase it by the carton. Good luck.

I don't know that we could come up with a box of 64, but there are lots of
colors in Mayberry...

Opie Orange
Thanks a lot Blue
How would you like to be called Yellow
Counterfeit Green
Floyd's eyes Azure
Black Day in Mayberry
Green Eyed Monster
Raspberry Snowcone Red
You're Gold (I mean cold!)
Shiny Hat Silver
Fuzzed Up Good Peach

I love the Mayberry colors and aren't you the clever one for thinking of them,
Jeff. My favorite is thanks a lot blue. That episode is hilarious. How about
plain clothes brown - as in Gomer's suit when Barney said it would be a plain
clothes operation. Although it did have a little stripe running through it.
As for the ringtones - it sounds much to complicated. I believe I'll let them
pass.
Carol

>>>Are Blue and Spot the talking dog played by the same dog? They sure look
and act alike. Any trained noticers know the answer?

Yes, they're both played by the same dog. His name was Pluto, and he was
owned by the legendary Frank Inn, Hollywood's greatest animal trainer.

In another episode (Jailbreak) Pluto played Floyd's dog, Sam. Barney locked
him in a cell, but Andy let him out because he tended to shed (probably just
a few hairs at a time, not bunches, bunches). Later, dog hair on the
escapee's clothes turned out to be a vital clue.

--Paul

P.S. Can anybody guess my new dog's name? It's a name shared by a
character from the greatest TV show of all time and the greatest movie of
all time (The Lord of the Rings).

I live in Nashville and Teaberry gum is found at most any impulse rack in the
grocery stores around here. Now if you can't find it in your neck of the
woods, just do a Google search and you'll run across it, as well as Beemans,
Black Jack, Clove, Chiclets. I'm afraid the old Sour Orange and Sour Cherry
(Adam's) gums are gone. But you can find those gums AND Nickel-Nips! My days
of early youth are coming back...sniff sniff. Now if I can only find Nectarine
Crush and Huckleberry Smash bottles of pop, I'll be pickled tink! **Barn (Ron
McLendon)

Don't forget deep pink ecstasy rose! I think Clara's rose might have been
called snowball white.

Don't forget the color episode when Barney comes back to Mayberry for his
class reunion and finds out that Thelma Lou is married. Actually, you
probably shouldn't count that one since he thinks the fruit juice is spiked
when it isn't.
