On the show Fri. nite that had Howard and Otis helping to rescue Andy from
the cabin. I think Howard's car was a Chevy. I thought they always used Fords
on the show. Is this right? Did I see a Chevy- about a 1965 or 66? It was a
dull gold color.

Just finshed viewing some of the episodes in the TAGS
first season box set. My initial reaction is that
they are pretty much what I expected, in that the
picture quality is very good. It is fantastic to have
the epilogs included, as I don't recall seeing some of
them ever! It's also interesting to watch them and
hear dialogue that MAYBE I haven't heard before, at
least in their broadcast airings, where they might
have been edited. The artwork on each disc is nice,
too. I might be in the minority here but the first
season is my least favorite (not counting the color
shows), as some of the episodes are just not that
interesting, but that could be due to some of the
characterizations not being fleshed out, or the
writing not quite up to the quality that would
eventually be evident in later episodes. A little
disappointing is that there is no bonus material of
any kind; maybe that will change in later sets.

All in all, it's a great package and long overdue! I
am looking forward to season 2, and hopefully ALL of
the episodes will be issued on DVD, even the color
ones.

Chuck

I received my Season #1 DVD's on the day after the release date from Weavers,
and they are the best quality picture I've seen in awhile. They actually
rival the VHS tapes that Columbia House put out, but these will last a lot
longer. Now, I can start replacing all those tapes I have. It sure is nice
to
see all the epilogues too. I haven't seen any I have never seen yet, but it's
coming. Thanks to Jim Clark for the prompt delivery, too.

Hi Everyone,

This evening hubby and I watched the Danny Thomas "pilot"
and two of my favorite episodes from the first DVD in the 1st
Season TAGS that I got last week. Watching "The Manhunt"
was BIG, and I'd have to EAT CROW if I said that "Opie's
Charity" wasn't just pure delight....

We didn't see where any parts were cut. As a matter of fact,
there were ending episode bits (for lack of other words) that
I had not seen before. We thought the picture and sound quality
was excellent, and the opening music was just fine! In other words,
the DVD's are wonderful!

It's dreary and bleak here today but after watching my TAGS
DVD's, my spirits are lifted!! They never fail to brighten my day
and bring a smile to my countenance...

Brenda Jo

I missed the part where the message of Barbara's passing was passed along to
us.
There is an online message book....check the obits in the Winston Salem
Journal and this was published on 11-18-04, and you can add your comments. It
would
also be nice to send a card to Emmett and family at 1740 Inglebrook Trail,
Mt. Airy NC 27030. Finer people you could not meet.
