I really think putting down a former TAGS regular for his/her political
affiliation is out of place on this list. It's his business who he likes or
doesn't like.

Hey fellow Mayberry fans,
I am new to the the digest but am very excited to join the many fans of
Mayberry such as myself.
I am looking for something in particular and hope someone can help me.
In 1997 , I started collecting the Hawthorne series of the town of Mayberry,
unfortunately , I started collecting a little to last. This is the year
they discontinued making this peices.
I need the courthouse, Barney's squad car, and the Barney figurine to finish
the set.
If there is anyone who knows someone who has these and would like to sell
them, or has any information, I would be very interested.

thanks,
Shae

You answered your own quiry - it's fiction. I read it and never found
anywhere in it claiming that the story is based on true facts. For Ron
Howard, I'm sure, it's a challenge.

Yeah Boy

Keith, for a guy who buys his nice suits in Mt. Pilot you sure done
good.

I am a CPA and I have an even nicer "machine" than they do down there at
the bank and I believe you got her if she don't jump.

I did a similar analysis a few times back on this and your thinking is
correct.

I had a couple Mayberry moments yesterday at my volunteer job at the
local hospital. We had a Taylor baby born, don't know what the parents
named him, hope it was Opie. We had a patient named Robert Crump, wonder
if a Helen Crump was in his family tree. We always get a little laugh
when this happens, I have already written to the digest that we have a
new doctor named Dr. Wiley, always think of Ernest T when I put
something in the doctor's box. Mary Grace in Georgia

Greetings from the Buckeye State, everyone. I am wondering if there were
ever any soundtracks of the show ever produced. Though not necessarily a
bluegrass fan, I do find the music associated with the show quite
interesting. I just thought that maybe someone would know or could recommend
a place to search if something exists like this.

Happy Motoring!

Keith in Nebraska..thanks for your explanation of the barbershop investment.
Your education was worth every penny! I give you an A in arithmetic...and I
bet you breathe real nice to.

Friends, lets give Ron Howard a break. I don't approve of everything in his
movies, but unfortunately (for those of us sometimes offended) that's the
business he is in.
I once commented to my wife while watching one of his films..."well I guess
he figured of what to do with a grown woman"
Even so-called Family-friendly Disney goes over the edge at times.
He's a big enough boy now to make his own decisions, and I'm sure Andy would
tell him he's the one that must live with the consequences. He was such a
good actor that we sometimes think of him as eternally that pure little boy
in Mayberry.

Is he old enough to vote already?

I tried to rub his head for good luck, but he wouldn't take his hat off. He
said the luck had all fallen out???

Re: I just bought The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Apple Dumpling Gang,
The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, How to Train a Fig, The Reluctant
Astronaut, The
Ghost and Mr. Chicken, and The Shakiest Gun in the West, in DVD. I am
trying to get all the Don Knotts movies. If there are others anyone
would recommend, I
would appreciate knowing so I can order them. I also have No Time for
Sergeants.

Mr Knotts has appeared in the following movies and TV shows. Bear in
mind that not all these are available on DVD or VHS. Although he's
only a bit player in it, "Mad World" is the funniest movie I've ever
seen. "Pleasantville" is his best role since "Return to Mayberry".
"Gus" is his funniest movie made during the seventies. "Figg" is
pretty funny, too. "Mr Chicken" is his funniest starring role. Hope
I'm not breaking any rules here at "The Rock" for vocalizing it, but I
think "Three's Company" is a piece of sitcom junk, and the kids today
who only know him as Mr Furley or from his appearances on "Scooby-Doo"
are missing out on a lot, namely his "Steve Allen Show" appearances
and, of course, "Mayberry". As an interesting side note, check out
this link: http://www.donknottsoverdrive.com/ Sorry this post is long,
but so has been his career!

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the episode, and the name of the
actor portraying a traveling salesman where he comes to Mayberry to sell
shoes ,and everyone thinks he is a talent scout from Hollywood. Hope someone
has
the answer? Thank you!

I'm live in upstate NY and when I visit the south I believe I'll pass on the
possum pie and crawfish. I did try chicken-fried steak once. The news tonight
mentioned that Buffalo's Anchor Bar may franchise around the world because
their Buffalo wings are so popular. When you come north, try some buffalo
wings. They're plenty hot, but I think your liver could take them. I had
hoped we Mayberrians were one big happy family. I hope the Mason-Dixon line
doesn't stop the good feelings. I admire the South and wish I lived there,
however even if I did, I'd never be a true Southerner. That only comes from
generations living there. Maybe I look at the South through rose colored
glasses, but it sure seems better than being a Yankee living in NY (the big
brother state). Not to mention our (gag) ambitious freshman Senator. My only
consolation is that I am actually a native Pennsylvanian. Right now we are
basking in below zero weather. Sure could use a pile of that wood that !
 Gomer cut
for Andy. Now I guess I'd better Citizen's Arrest myself in case I broke Rule
#2. It's from minor misdemeanors that major felonies grow and I don't want to
join Maude in the Big House.

Carol

I'm not going to say too much here but it's time to stop talking about
politics and religion here on the WBMUTBB Digest. Please...let's move along to
actually talking about Mayberry related topics.

Thank you....
