Yesterday at church, the sermon title was "How do we change our hectic
schedules?" Well, as you can guess, it might as well have been titled
"What's your hurry?" I wondered what else could happen to complete my
Mayberry day. Unfortunately we did not sing, Leaning on the Everlasting
Arms ( I have a Barney voice, but I was looking forward to moving my lips
along with Weaver)

I went to my adult Bible class, though, and you'll never guess what we
talked about there ...Sin! That's something you can never talk about too
much. I saw a lady with a white Bible too..and someone that looked like
they had the Beamon overbite.

Mayberry is everywhere.

That fella what's thinking about havin' his honeymoon at Andy's Home
place....That sure sounds a lot better that the room at the back of the
courthouse.."You better get yourself a room!"

>>> I have just counted them, there are 29 in all and I guess they came in
packages of ten each. My question is, are these [Andy Griffith Show trading]
cards worth anything?
>>>

There were three 110-card series of TAGS trading cards produced, starting in
1990. They were sold in sealed factory sets, and in wax packs (like
old-fashioned baseball cards). Those trying to assemble complete sets by
opening packs were frustrated by the terrible mix -- in other words, you
might open ten packs, and get the very same cards in every single pack.

Anyway, series one (cards (1-110) is now getting pretty hard to find.
Weaver's has been sold out for quite a while. Expect to pay $50 per set or
more, IF you can find them anywhere (I have a few extra sets that I will
sell at that price, if anybody needs one). The original factory sets for
series one came in a red and blue box with a cut-out panel so that you could
see the card on the top of the stack; later runs of series 1, and all of
series 2 and 3, came in a green box without a cut-out panel. The wax pack
box for series one was green with Barney's picture; series 2 and 3 came in a
yellow box. Series 2 and 3 were over-produced, and can still be found
anyplace that sells collectors' cards.

Loose single cards don't really have any value, but if somebody was trying
to assemble a set of series 1, they might be willing to pay about 50 cents
per card.

Jessi,

Just wanted to let you know I don't think it's weird you want to spend your
honeymoon in Mount Airy. Not only did my husband and I spend our honeymoon
in Mount Airy, we also got married during Mayberry Days in Mount Airy!
We're even going back for our first anniversary!!! We had a wonderful time
in Mount Airy and we can't wait to go back. We did have some people that
thought we were a little weird for wanting to get married during Mayberry
Days but those were people that didn't watch TAGS..... and you know those
kind of people are NUTS.
When you get married, if you want to have a Mayberry Wedding, let me know
and I get you in touch with the people that helped us plan our wedding.

It is absolutely not a "wierd" thing to want to spend your honeymoon in Andy's
hometown. I was married some 18 months ago and tried to go there for our
honeymoon. The house that Andy grew up in is not a bed and breakfast. I can't
think of a better honeymoon than a beautiful bride and Andy reruns...just what
the rest of my life will consist of! Anyhow, needless to say we went to
Clearwater, FL instead of NC for the honeymoon...and it was not my decision to
do so!

Happy Motoring!

The question of marrying in Mayberry just gave me an idea. After all the
junk I'm going through is over AND I meet someone...Mayberry may just be THE
best send-off.

Too bad I didn't think of it twenty-four years ago!

You certainly have my blessing in your marriage in Our Hometown. Tell Andy

Hey Everybody,

Jesse said that it is unlikely he will ever get married. Jesse, you pray about
that, because I think anyone who wants to have a honeymoon in Mt. Airy, "it
will happen for you." I would love to take my wife there and visit. It is "a
beautiful" place to see. Nothing weird about that young man. Remember, it's
our "hometown."

Have a Great Mayberry Week!!

consistant with the order they show the first five years? We need to let them

Thanks for the mention about the Dillard cd. I made my husband watch some TAGS
over the weekend and I carefully picked a couple that had the Darling's in
them. He said they were his favorites. I believe I'll wander over to Weaver's
and pick him up a Dillard cd. Maybe I'll get me one of those can openers with
a little umbrella on it while I'm there.
Also, thanks to Allen for all of the work he does on the digest. I know we get
a little unruly sometimes. He may be forced to take measures he has never
taken with a pupil before. A good rap on the knuckles with a ruler will make
us change our ways. He'll be our brother figure.
I was watching High Noon at Mayberry this morning. I just love it when Barney
is trying to form (force) a posse out of Gomer and Otis. I've often thought
that Barney had some psychological power over the guys in town because he could
usually make them do what he wanted.
Barney: Otis, if you back out now I'll spread it all over town that you're a
yellow-bellied chicken. Do you want to be known as a yellow-bellied chicken?
Otis: I don't mind.

TVLand must use filmed order for their episode numbers. I tried to record
based on their episode numbers...and I always use the aired order...that is
in Beck and Jim Clark's book. Well I missed about 6 episodes that I wanted
and got six different ones.

Has anyone else experienced this??

Now I go to their website, print out the next couple weeks shows, then
renumber from my list.

I guess I'm as mixed up as Gomer and Cell number 1 and Cell number 2....

Speaking of "Those Gossipin Men",,,we started out with someone asking for
visual clues that the show was not actually filmed in North Carolina...and
end up talking about dialogue references to North Carolina.

Hey folks,
I was wondering if someone could tell me how many members there are in
the WBMUTBB Digest.

I was reading a Christian novel the other day and there were several
mentions about Barney Fife, Sheriff Andy Taylor and Mayberry. They just
jumped right off the page at me!

I wanted to thank everyone for all the replies and prayers for our
church's youth pastor! I appreciate it and I know he does as well.

Goodnight all,
Amy

If you go to the Members Only Area of the WBMUTBB Chapter web site
(http:/www.wbmutbb.com/) you'll be able to search the WBMTUBB Chapter member
list or
just list it out to see how many members we have. You can also look for folks
in
your state or area to see if any members are in that area.

I don't know, but you can check out www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc and look in the
section about cast birthdays. It also lists dates of death. If it's not
there, check out one or more of these web sites: www.deadoraliveinfo.com,

Skip K.

I imagine he'll respond himself, but Mike Creech has DVD copies of "Angel in
My Pocket" available periodically on Ebay. I bought one right after Christmas
and I'm very satisfied with it. It's real good quality. The only bad thing is
I gave my copy to my sister who was visiting and likes the movie too -- so now
I need to order another copy!

Subject: What Mayberry means to me
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Mayberry is a place where I can go and forget about the troubles of the
world. It is a place where everybody knows you and loves you. It is place where
everybody knows you with all your pluses and minus and they love anyway. Andy
is a very wise leader. He has a way of getting people to work out problems and
letting them think they had figured it out. That is the way he helped Opie. He
never made Opie feel small insignificant. Even when he would go to his room
to punish him, he would end up talking to him and working things out. His
influence on Opie was very obvious. Opie was a very loving caring and honest
little
boy and young man.
Aunt Bee was loved by everybody. She was one of the best cooks in the
county, except for pickles of course. She has the small town wisdom which is a
mixture of fact and a bit of folk lore. She worries about her friends and
family.
Barney is someone everybody loves. He thinks he knows more than he really
does on a lot of subjects. And of course Andy covers for him and never lets
him know. I think we all have a little bit of Barney in us. We all want to be
accepted. We all have bee in situations where we may not have known just what
to say or how to say it and might not have known just exactly what was being
talked about. Yet if you needed a friend Barney would be there for you.
Then there are the others we love. Goober, who didn't have a lot of
book knowledge but was very wise in his own way, as was Gomer. Floyd was also a
friend. You could go to his shop and just sit and rest, or play checkers, or
get caught up on the latest "news." Howard was also a very good friend even
though he was somewhat sheltered by his mother.
There are so many people that made up Mayberry. All of the friends.
All of them loved you. All of them cared.
Mayberry was a place where you didn't really have to lock your doors.
You knew everybody anyway. But even strangers were welcomed. They were made
to feel at home, even if they were under suspicion at first.
Mayberry is a great place to go and relax. It just means peace.

time we talked and it came up on Monday at the link below. It's got three
chairs, so you know there's no waiting. If there are any serious collectors
out there, here is a unique piece of history for their collection, so spread
