Have not posted in a very long time, but couldn't
resist commenting....

Saw an old episode of Superman last night - had been
aware that they did some outdoor filming at the 40
acres lot, but had not actually seen any episodes in
years, so was interested last night to actually note
the outdoor scenes.....and yes, there it was, Walker's
Drug Store building. The outdoor scene went by
quickly and I first noted the building that looks like
a hotel on the other side of the drugstore building
from the courthouse (not the Mayberry Hotel) and then
as they rounded the corner of the building, the tiles
on the lower part of the building that was Walker's
Drug store which make it easily identifiable were
obviously noticeable. Imagine that....Superman right
there in Mayberry.....

I have my aerial view of 40 Acres photographed
professiionally framed and enjoy showing this view of
Mayberry to friends. Everyone is always interested to
pick out the buildings and see how the lot was
situated in relation to the city around it.

I did see the episode of Star Trek recently that
involved the main street of our Mayberry with the
courthouse right there in plain view. I had heard
about this episode, but had not seen it until now.
They made it appear very realistically like a ghost
town.

No longer "Sandy in Saudi" after 13 years, I am now
"Sandy in Florida"

Okay, I knew this one would be hard, so here's a couple of more clues:

1. This TV star had a self-named series on CBS from 1954-1971

2. Some might argue that the appearance on TAGS was an imposter, but
I'm pretty sure the actor/actress was the real deal.

Re: There are obvious similarities between Andy Taylor and Destry. I
wonder if there is a direct correlation between the two or if it's
coincidence.

I don't know about that, but I do know that the similarities were so
great that Andy starred in the 1959 Broadway play of "Destry". There's
even a cast recording available:

Subject: Not Andy Griffith related but tvland related

Hello All,
This has been bugging me for a long time and I'm hoping someone can
help me out.
On tvland they've been showing a commercial advertising the tvland
awards. They show Henry Winkler, John Schnieder, Ted danson and a few
more. Anyway at the end of these commercials they show a dark skinned
woman. In one commercial she talks about I dream on jeannie, in another
one she sings part of the brady bunch theme song. Anyway, does anyone
know who she is? She looks so familiar but I just can't place her. It's
been driving me crazy! :-)
Thanks in advance for your help,

   Susan

I was watching old TV episodes of THE RIFLEMAN today. In the title
introduction, LUCAS MCCAIN is fires his rifle several times. He then reaches
into his left pocket and pulls out a bullet. The question is: Did LUCAS get
the idea of a bullet in the poicket from BARNEY or did BARNEY get the idea
from LUCAS?

Mayberry means many things to me: family, love, friendship, good times,
community, and a sense of belonging. It never fails to bring me a measure of
peace
and happiness when I watch an episode.

The online chapter of TAGSRWC has blessed me as well. I've met so many
wonderful friends that have enriched my life! Can't imagine life without TAGS.

Married with 2 grown sons. I watch the Andy Griffith show every chance I can.
I have several of the DVD's.

One thing I would love to see (may be already out) are "Season's" of the
show; i.e. ALL the first season shows on one DVD, ALL the second season shows
on a
DVD, etc.; not just the favorites. There are several "Season" DVD's on the
marked and think this would be a great seller.

To all you trained WBMUTBB,

I am not sure if this has ever been discussed before but, last night as I
was watching the Medicine Man episode, I noticed that when Andy and
Barney were playing checkers (during the epilog) Andy makes 2 moves in a
row. Maybe I have a bucket over my head but, I wonder if I was just
seeing things? What do the rest of you think?

You are the one for puttin a glow in a man's day!

Chris in the episode entitled "Barney's Bloodhoud", you asked what Andy was
saying at the window to Barney. It always looked to me like Andy was saying:
"I'm comin' in...I'm comin' in." Then it looks like Barney answers back:
"What...what do you want me to do? What do you want me to do?" Anybody else
have any other ideas?

.....I think I've heard just about enough about that tomato.....
.....Did you see him throw that tomato at me?
.....I wish he'd throw something at me, I haven't had my lunch yet....
