OK, apparently the 25c tip for Olive wasn't in 2 episodes. My viewing tends
to be rather fragmented sometimes and I don't put these bits together right
sometimes. I knew the tip bit was sort of in the "prologue" of an episode,
but it didn't click it was Enest T Joins the Army. Thanks for helping me
glue those 2 bits back into the same episode.

Subject: A PICTURE NO ARTIST COULD PAINT
I may be wrong, but I heard two different characters say "Picture no artist
could paint" in two different episodes. One was around the dinner table
with the Darlings when Andy said it about Aunt Bee's cooking and the other
came when Gomer said it while riding in Barney's new car out by the Johnson
farm. Any thoughts on this or other duplicated lines.

Reading of the past couple of days' discussion about TAGS residuals (or lack
thereof) reminded me of a cartoon I saw the other day. Don Knotts (along with
Jessica Biel and Alec Baldwin), in animated form, appears in a "Johnny Bravo"
episode on the Cartoon Network. Johnny goes to Hollywood to be part of a
sitcom, and Don is one of the sitcom's cast; there's a great line about his
NOT getting TAGS residuals. So once again, our animated buddy Barney Fife
REALLY gets animated ("The New Scooby-Doo Movies" of the 1970s was the first
time).

Well, you can always use it to take a bath.....or fill it with sand, give
Barney a bucket and a shovel and let him play in it.

My beloved went to Heaven early this morning and although I will miss him
terribly I am glad he is now pain-free and fishing with our Lord and
Saviour. I know that with the help of family and friends, not the least
of which is my Mayberry extended family, I will make it through the next
few years till I am called home to join him once again. I thank you for
your prayers in his behalf and your kind messages to me.

Hey folks,
We had about 400 folks removed from the WBMUTBB Digest mailing list over the
weekend. This has happened 2 times before. I added all of you back so if you
got a note saying you had been added to our maililng list...that's why.
I just wanted to let everybody know what was happening. I've changed some
sittings on my end to try and stop this problem. Sorry if you missed any
Digest
issues. Remember you can drop by the Archives to see what you missed.

Re: Has anyone ever noticed how many times that a quarter has been the
subject of a laugh?
That's because the writers, being experts in humor, realized that
certain words are just naturally funny, and quarter is one of those
words - especially when combined with Barney's thriftiness.
Speaking of funny things, in "My Fair Ernest T. Bass", we noticed that
the episode contains some of the most concentrated humor in the entire
series. Within the space of a minute, we counted no fewer than three
big laugh out loud moments. The highlight was how Andy & Barney
snapped their fingers to get Ernest T. into the rhythm and he kept
moving up and down while walking over to Romeena. Then there was the
way Barney said "noooo" when Andy asked him if he'd like to dance with
anyone. I could also tell that the line about flying a quail through
here genuinely tickled Andy. What a perfectly written, directed, and
acted series.
