Someone wrote in about the same "line" or dialogue showing up in different
episodes, and I'm sure gonna' pay better attention to that. But one thing
I've notice over the years is how often they use lines or bits of stories from
Andy Griffith's days BEFORE he was Andy Taylor, like the line, "and I believe
I got her if she don't jump". Don't recall what episode that was in, but I
remember hearing it from his early story of having tasted white-lightnin' for
the first time. Ya'll know this stuff better than me, I just thought it was
interesting.
"And you say she's nice?"

Don't forget,Mr. Maxwell said that the royalties on the
album he was recording would be 25 cents per album.
"25 cents!!?? Sounds like chicken feed to me"!

>>>I may be wrong, but I heard two different characters say "Picture no
artist could paint" in two different episodes. One was around the dinner
table with the Darlings when Andy said it about Aunt Bee's cooking and the
other came when Gomer said it while riding in Barney's new car out by the
Johnson farm.
You're close; Gomer's actual quote was "A picture no artist could draw."
Other punchlines used in more than one episode (with variations) include "I
swallowed my gum" (Barney in "Barney Gets His Man"/ Goober in "Mind Over
Matter") and "Odd Facts Known By Few" (Barney reading a magazine title in
"The Rehabilitation of Otis" / Andy reading a magazine title in one of the
color episodes).
BTW, Andy's remark about eating too much polar bear liver is apparently
true; it's said to contain toxic levels of Vitamin A.

Was so sorry to hear of your loss. I sincerely hope the memories that you
have shared comfort you at this sad time. My thoughts are with you. I also want
you to know how much your card meant to my brother, Tim "Goober" Pettigrew, it
made his day and made him feel just a little better. May God Bless You. Diane

Some of my favorite moments from that episode are when Andy and Barney are
trying to get him out of the house, when his identity as a creachter is found
out. The way they are both struggling and he's hanging onto stuff and wraps
his legs around Barney's is hilarious. It's all they can do to get him out. I
don't see how they kept from laughing also.
I never did like the line about the quail and what it implied about the ladies
there though.

There is also the episode where Barney is quoting one of his favorite
magazines and Andy says, "Just because you read about something in a ten
cent magazine........" and Barney interrupts and shouts out "Quarter!!"
. Then there is Opie getting a quarter from Mr. McBeevee only Opie
pronounces it "corter".

My Fair Ernest T. Bass is one of my favorite episodes. I love the scene where
Barney tries to teach Ernest T. how to enter a room. "I cain't hear him. I
cain't hear him. How am I gonna learn if I cain't hear him?" "Doggone it,
Ernest T. Them are the amenities and you don't shout out amenities!" Then
when Andy and Barney are removing the creetcher from the party, you can
definitely see Andy smiling. I'm sure they all enjoyed that little bit of a
dusting up. One thing I have always wondered about though; Ramona is obviously
a wallflower and we hear later references of how she maintained a relationship
with Ernest T. (isn't she his beloved Romeena?). My question: How did Ramona
come to be at such a swank affair as Mrs. Wiley's party?

I've been selling some automobile items on Ebay for a friend. One of the items
was a fender emblem that said SPORT. I'm not sure which make of car it belongs
to. Anyway, when I saw the word SPORT, it reminded me of when BARNEY took
THELMA LOU to a Chinese restaurant and ordered the family dinner for one. He
told ANDY that he had left no tip and the waiter said something to him in
Chinese that didn't sound like SPORT. I guess I must be a true TAGS fan for
just a simple word to bring back memories of Mayberry. GARRY
