Hello to all -

I am wondering if someone would be willing to help me
locate "Barney's sidecar" episode. We are having a chapter
party ("Burnt to a turn! My life snuffed out! Completely
dead!) at the end of March and want to show that episode.
None of us seems to be able to find it in our collections.

I would prefer to have it on dvd if someone could burn a
copy, but vhs would work as well. Of course, I would pay
you for the expenses. Please email me as soon as possible:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks so much for helping spread a
little Mayberry cheer!

Gene

Y'all gonna give ole Barn the big head. LOL....I never knew he was so
talented, no wonder he won all those Emmy's. Don't forget he knew everything
about dogs, too. Or did you mention that??!! And he had a clock in his
stomach. ( He got that from his mother....and also his aversion to anyone
else wearing his hat.)

Good ole Barn. We love him.

Have a Mayberry Day!

That's interesting, because TV Land *should* have been affected, unless it
was somehow covered under a different agreement. Viacom, which owns MTV, VH1,
etc., couldn't come to an agreement with Dish Network so the Dish dropped all
their channels. It's making huge news in the entertainment world. I am
surprised TV Land is still on, though, since Viacom owns them too.

Don't forget how Barney is also a skilled rope jumper. He even gets the
rhymes correct.

Joel, thanks so much for the photos of Barney and Aunt Bee!! They were great.
Barney with a mustache....what a hoot. He sure did look like a tough dude
didn't he?? I thought Aunt Bee looked great in those photos of her as Amy
Morgan, she looked the same in 1954 as she did when she joined TAGS a few years
later.

Thanks again, you brought a smile to my face, of course anything concerning
TAGS has that effect.

............lots of luck to you and yours...............

I'm not as familiar with Mayberry RFD but I remember that Aunt Bee went to live
with Sam and Mike and help them like she had done for Andy and Opie. I don't
remember why, was this when Andy, Helen and Opie moved away? Also I thought
she left Sam and Mike when she married the sea captain, however someone said it
was a broken engagement. Was there a reason given for Aunt Bee leaving Sam and
Mike? I remember another lady staying there for a while and I think Sam's
cousin also stayed there, but I don't remember which was first.

RE: Credits watching and Dish Network

First of all, I watch the credits, occasionally, except if TV Land does a
promo in the middle, that breaks my concentration and I switch it, but, that
doesn't mean I don't like them, and the theme. Also, Anita Carpenter might
understand this better, but, my sister-in-law was interviewed from her home in
KY.
(my brother saw it, too, I think, later), by one of our local stations (Channel
5), yesterday, it was shown at 11 P.M. (Tues.), talking about Dish Network
because they have it, and my brother wrote a letter to them, saying how wrong
that is, too...I got to see two of my four little nieces on tv, too!

That's not Tim Conway, it's Harry Shearer.

I saw in the recent TV Guide that the TV Land Award Show is going to be aired
Wednesday March 17 at 9 pm. I also read that Andy will take part in the
tribute, as TAGS be receiving a Legend reward. Since I do not have cable, I
was wondering if there was someone here at the digest that would be willing to
tape it for me. Please contact me off the digest and I will send you whatever
it costs you for the tape and postage.

I was watching HOLLYWOOD SQUARES today and got a pleasant surprise. The Secret
Square was MARLA GIBBS and the prize was an all-expenses paid trip to the
MAYBERRY DAY'S festivities. I started drooling all over the place when I heard
that. Anyway, a picture was shown. The question was who is the actress who
played LOIS LANE, posing with GEORGE REEVES (Superman). MARLA was given the
names of 3 PHYLLIS'S. She picked PHYLLIS KIRK. The youn girl contestant
agreed. Unfortunately, the actress was PHYLLIS COATES. Watch HOLLYWOOD SQUARES
tomorrow, if you can. I can't remember if the same prize for the Secret Square
is carried over to the next day or not, if it is not won. GARRY

Barney had a knack for creating clever disguises while working a case, e.g.,
the cleaning lady at the bank and the mannequin at department store.

Also, he could claim a talent for historical restoration by refurbishing the
WWII-era motorcycle and squad car.

Two more thoughts about Barney's talents, or lack thereof:

He had NO TALENT for choosing a car!

Perhaps his trademark talent is BUD NIPPING!

Subject: Dish Network

I called Dish Network to find out if TV Land would be affected by this dispute
between Viacom and Dish Network. Dish Network said TV Land was not affected
"at this time", which I take to mean that it could be affected in the future.
I am fairly certain that it is owned by Viacom also. Just something to think
about for those of us who have Dish Network. The channels that they have
already taken away are not that important to me, but if they take TV Land, I'm
not going to be happy.

I have all of the TAGS episodes on tape, so I guess I could live without TAGS
on TV Land for a while, but what kind of life would that be?
