Hey everybody, I just finished my first DVD of Mayberry, RFD. All four
episodes on this one feature Andy Griffith and the episodes are, ANDY &
HELEN GET MARRIED, HELP ON THE FARM, YOUTH TAKES OVER and ANDY'S BABY.
Anyone interested in obtaining a copy can e-mail me directly at
[EMAIL PROTECTED], please do not reply to the bulliten board. Thanks!

It was a big weekend in Mount Airy with Jeff Branch and the "Local Darling Boys
from Oakboro" and The Mayberry Deputy, David Browning, at the Andy Griffith
Playhouse last Saturday night. Good TAGS music, good jokes (complete with sound
effects), and wonderful accommodations at the Mayberry Motor Inn - thank you
friends.

Adding to Mount Airy's tourism activities, you can now take a "Tour of
Mayberry" in a replica Squad Car. The former director of the Chamber of
Commerce drives a car load of people on the loop around downtown while telling
stories and pointing out the highlights. $20 for the trip, and for a little
extra he can take you to even more spots in the community. The fun starts and
ends at Wally's Filling Station on S. Main Street.

>Griffith let Mancuso know he hadn't forgotten Charlene Darling's amorous
>advances. "He told me he named his golden lab puppy after me. He said
>"Margaret I named her 'Charlene' because she was all over me."

North Carolina state magainze - with Andy Griffith, his guitar and lab puppy
on the cover - In the article he mentions that he named her Charlene for
that very reason. By the way, I never found that magainze anywhere in the
state of North Carolina. I had to mail off for it....$6.00, but Andy's
education was worth every penny!

Harriet, I've named my chickens "The Darlings"

......"You're sweeter'n sourwood honey!"...............

Ordered and just received a copy of the 40 Acres backlot map with a legend
featuring Mayberry locations as well as those of Gomer Pyle, Hogan's Heroes and
Gone With the Wind. For anyone interested in taking a nostalgic look at what
was our beloved Mayberry, I highly recommend it. It includes a CD of several
photos of what it looked like then and now. It's put out by Joel Rasmussen
who's
done a first rate job. I've seen it available on E-Bay, Mayberry Emporium and
you might try Weaver's as well.

All of us here in the Carolinas thought it quite natural that Andy drove
Gomer to report for duty. And that he would have driven him to Camp Lejune
over on the other side of the state from Mt. Airy.

See, I told ya I was old. I can't even type anymore. The last word in my
posting should have been I, not it. Makes a lot more sense this way:

Yeah, considering I saw TAGS originally broadcast when I was a teen, it is
no wonder the cast and crew on stage the other night have white in their
hair. Heck, I bet ol' Ernest T. can't even leapfrog that stump in Mrs.
Wiley's yard! But then, neither can I.

I'm curious to know as to whether any other folks from my area are getting
this list? Lexington, KY? And if so, is there an active TAGS fan club
here? You can email me and let me know if you'd like. I'd also like to
thank all of you for your welcoming, especially Ted from Indy, Gene, and
Aunt Bee. It's nice to be noticed.

Maybe I should get a purple tie with acorns on it and hose that's not too
porous (if I forget to shave my legs!! ;-) Hmmm...might look funny on a
gal, you think? Good ole Gome........

Sending you smiles,
Vivian

day, a place that is slower paced and has nice folks that enjoy one another's
company. Thank you for reading my message!
