I am planning to visit Hollywood in the summer and I would like to visit the
lake where the opening scene from the show was filmed. Can someone give me
directions and tell me if there is anything else "TAGS-related" that I
should see while I'm there?

It might have been how Andy knew it, but as far as I know most if not
all of the writers were not born and bred in NC. They were from, umm,
they were from somewhere's else. Greenbaum and Fritzell were New Yorkers
as was the esteemed Harvey Bullock. I believe Mr. Bullock actually was
born in North Carolina but moved to new york at a very early age.

Likely Andy himself was the source of that musical creative input.

Hi all,
I was watching the ep the other night where the Taylors go to Hollywood.
Several people had asked Andy to get autographs, pictures, etc. for them while
he was in California. When he told Helen this, she said that her landlady
wanted him to get something for her. I can't remember what it was.
I always assumed that Thelma Lou's house was left to her by her parents
but come to think of it, I couldn't say for sure that Thelma Lou lived in the
same house each time her home was shown.
And....I never realized that Helen lived one house down from Andy in that
ubiquitous house with the X-railing. I noticed that on the ep where Warren
thinks he as ESP.

I grew up in the sixties and we did not have running water in the house, so
we never rinsed our dishes before drying them. It would have been another
trip outside to the pump.
