Hi all,

The exact episodes with Leonard Blush starts with episode 115 "The Song
Festers" (Andy has no idea who LB is, then in episode 128 "Barney's
Bloodhound" they listen to him sing on the radio. So like I said before,
it was episodes later Andy does know who he is. The only thing that
could be questionable would be the part about his mask. Mrs. Poultice
said he didn't wear the mask any more, only when he had that skin
condition, however, the radio announcer(Howard Morris) says "...the
masked singer". Maybe he carried that name through.

God Bless

Michael

<<isn't allspice a combination of dessert spices...nutmeg and such as this?
<<

Allspice (Pimenta diocia, formerly P. officinalis) belongs to the plant
family Myrtaceae (myrtle). It is not a blend of "all spices," but has the
taste and aroma of a mix of cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg but with some
peppery heat and is strongly aromatic.

Does anyone know if there are any "real" books on mountain folklore, like
Barney
was reading in Divorce, Mountain style episode?

Okay, we know Katie Couric, Oprah Winfrey, Bonnie Hunt, & Eugene Levy
are TAGS fans. Any other celebs? I did email Oprah at her website to
incite her to join us here & also asked her to have Allan & others on
her show. However, after 2 months & no reply, I switched ISPs so if
she's tried to contact me since I wouldn't know about it. Maybe I should
try again, eh?

Maybe the allspice is what made Clara's pickles different. By the way Atkins,
AR is known as the pickle capital of America. And, don't tell Otis, but
Franklin Co, VA is know as the moonshine capital of the world.

Hello Fellow Mayberrians,
Myself, my Husband, Sister and Friend just took a trip to Mt. Airy We
had such a great time. We talked to Russell Hiatt for quite awhile. My husband
being a barber was in his glory and I too think this was the highlight of our
trip. Mr. Hiatt is so nice and hospitable. We had that great pork chop
sandwich and went everywhere. It was a gift for my birthday and it was a
birthday I'll never forget. We then went to Schuyler ,Virginia where Earl
Hamner Jr. lived (The Walton's). While we were there we met two women That
were visiting from Mt. Airy and we also met a local women that is a TAGS fan
and wants to go to Mt.Airy and would you believe that her real name is Bea
Taylor...

Act like somebody.

Subject: Barney's big Day coming up!
Date: Wed, 5 May 2004 23:18:06 -0400

Well, keep an eye on the calendar. You know what's coming up!
May 16!!! You know, the day that Barney joined the force.
We've got just enough time to plan how we're gonna celebrate.
It was in 1964 (show aired) that he celebrated his 5th anniversary..so this
May 16 will be 45 year of service!!
He's never been off the air, so he's been serving the citizens of Mayberry
for 45 YEARS!
Aunt Bee had a bunch of us over this afternoon for tea and we kicked some
ideas around. Here's kind of how things went.
Floyd: Why don't we pitch in and get a watch with 45 engraved on the
back!!!
Goober: Couldn't we just get his old watch and have a 4 put in front of the
5!
Aunt Bee: Gooba, I think thats kind of cheap, don't you, hmmm?
Goober: well....
Floyd: Yeah that's cheap Goober, just like that suit you got at Weaver's,
cheap
Thelma Lou: Hey I've got an idea why don't we all get him something
involving the number 45!
Everyone: Yeah that's a great idea, that's a swell idea Thelma Lou!
Mr. Schwamp ; (Big smile and nod...looks around for root beer to celebrate)
Chester: Me and Judd will get him 45 checkers! (crowd cheers)
Andy: Hey I know, we could get him some 45 rpm records!
Helen, oh that's good Andy...like Cole Porter or something like that
Andy: Well I was thinkin' music he likes..like Leonard Blush, Ethel Page
Organ Recitals, Bobby Fleet and his bad with the beat,
Gomer: Hey I know! How' bout 45 cents worth or Buffalo nickels
Howard: Or 1 45th of a share of US Steel ! He's a plung-er you know
Warren: hey how about a new Colt 45 revolver
Goober: and 45 bullets!
Andy Nuuuuuuw, we don't wanna do that. That could get him into trouble
Warren: How bout this Andy, we just got the town cannon fixed how bout a
45 gun salute!!
Andy, No Warren, that would be worse than Barney with bullets, you'd shoot
up the whole town!
Opie: Hey Paw maybe we could have Ernest T Bass do a 45 rock salute!
Andy; I'm afraid that wouldn't do Ope, There wouldn't be a plate of glass
left in town
Floyd, I'll give him 45 cents off a haircut!
Goober: That's cheap too Floyd! why don't you just give him a free haircut!

OK you can see we're having trouble deciding, what would you give Barney
that has something to do with the number 45??

Subject: statue damage
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The early news just let us know someone has seen fit to steal the plaque off
the Andy and Opie statue. The police are now involved in this crime, but don't
know if Fearless Fyfe has been called in or not.
Just goes to show how low some people can be! To be sure it was not a fan of
TAGS who did this, as they would show nothing but respect for the statue.

As an update, my wife has just finished the next round of chemo, and so far
her leukemia is all gone. She has 2 more chemo treatments to go, one the first
part of June and the last one the first part of July, 6 days each, and then
the treatments will hopefully be over and recovery will be on the way. We are
still planning on attending Mayberry Days in Sept., but on a very subdued
schedule.
Thanks to all the well wishers!!!
