I think that was Bill Idelson, known and beloved by old time radio fans as
Rush from "Vic and Sade." On "The Dick Van Dyke Show" he was Sally (Rose
Marie)'s boyfriend.
And to the person who made the comparison between the Dick Van Dyke special
and the Mayberry special last year, you're not the only one. The New York
Times TV critic blasted the Van Dyke reunion and said it should have been done
like the Mayberry reunion.

It must be true.....I heard it from Laura Lee Hobbs down at the dime store.
She was right about the gold truck, remember that?

Well, Leonard Blush and there was Al Becker - remember him? But I don't
remember many who were mentioned frequently like Juanita and Sarah.
By the way, one DFW area radio station used a quote from Barney Fife as their
"Phrase that pays". Imagine my surprise. They had just got through talking
about some signal light malfunctions, when Barney's voice comes across and says
something about electronic marvels of the 20th century. For a minute I thought
he was being obtuse about the signal lights.
