I always thought Eggbeater would be a great name for a dog, although it
doesn't have anything to do with Mayberry. Now that I think about it,
Eggbeater
would be good for a dog that always runs around in circles. Reckon a cairn
terrier would qualify?

That's funny, the world's fastest speedway (Talladega) is located in Nabors'
home county of Talladega County, Alabama...wonder why he never sang anything
here?

Enjoyed a nice band concert down here in Montgomery last night. The local
symphony put on their wonderful annual pre-Memorial Day outdoor concert. I
thought about making a sign for it that said "Concert Tonight -- Relax to Music
Under the Stars." Then I noticed it was starting to get a little cloudy. Plus,
I
knew when folks heard the music, they'd know it was a concert, and they'd know
it was tonight. So, I decided -- no sign. The best part was that I didn't have
to worry about mending the uniforms, repairing the bandstand, spiders,
rehearsing, or anything. It gave our family a chance to slow down and say
"What's
your hurry?" Throughout the concert, I couldn't help but think about how nice
it
was - even in a big city - to always be able to enjoy a touch of Mayberry.

Everyone have a great, and relaxing, Memorial Day weekend!

(Not sure I got the official title of the song right though)
Brad "Neil Bentley" Cunningham<<<<

Neil, your real close buddy, you must've wrote it on the back or one of your
cards. it's "Back Home Again in Indiana"..or The Indiana State Song. For
those who said the National Anthem, you were real close. It's still this
side of Ole Man Kelsey's ocean. Actually they have different guests each
year sing the National Anthem...but Jim owns the Indiana song. I don't know
if Leonard Blush has done it yet or not...'course he's a fixture at the
County Insecticide Convention.

According to folks out at the Mayberry Cafi in nearby Danville, Jim makes it
out there every couple years or so for a visit. I hear him warmin' up now.

Hey,

We are coming to the Mayberry Reunion at Gaylord Opryland Resort in
Nashville
and was wondering how everyone is going to dress. Such as, for men, Dockers
& dress shirt, or just shorts & t-shirt ? Just wandering.

When I get there, I just want to "act like somebody".

My minpin puppy is named Thelma Lou; everyone who hears this seems to get
a kick out of it and it's a good lead-in to Mayberry conversation; I'm
always so pleased to meet someone from our hometown! As for Howard's
spiffy black and white shoes, those saddle oxfords were popular when I
was in grammar school and still worn by cheerleaders when I was in high
school; I've always liked them but they're hard to find these days.

This is so true. ITA with Joe. jenny I am afraid folks would think a dog

One cent:

Jim Nabors returns to the Indy track year after year to sing Back Home Again,
In Indiana rather than the national anthem.

Two cents:

"TAGS" would be a fitting name for a new puppy.

Well, I think both Joe and Amy had a great idea in naming the dog Mary Grace.
My thinking ran along the same lines. I thought the dog should be named
Ramona. Remember when Andy and Barney took Ernest T. to Mrs. Wiley's? Barney
said that all the girls in the room were dogs -- if a quail ran through, every
one would point. And, of course, Ramona ("Romeena") was the one who caught
Ernest T.'s eye.

I have been giving some thought about giving the dag a name. I put on my

said, we all have a uvula, everyone has a uvula.

I know on TAGS Andy and Barney said that they had been in military service,
they also were in the Army in
"No Time for Sergeants'.
I want to know did Andy Griffith and Don Knotts ever serve in the military?
This is praying on my mind.
