Just like the truckers out on the highway, give 'em 30
and they will take 35.
Well, I'm cancelling my reservation at the corner room
of the Y this year.

I have several things to say to the thieves of the plaque and the poles:
Now it's from little misdemeanors that felonies grow. Where did it all begin?
One fine day in a park when he stole a fishing pole. Where does it all end?
Right here! No more carefree hours....No more doing what you want when you
want...No more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches..... Take a good look boys!
Because it is definitely no fun when that iron door clangs shut on you!
It's a good thing they won't end up in my municipal court!!! I'd throw the book
at 'em......And probably toss in a jaywalking charge too!!!! We have got to nip
this!!!! Ni pit in the BUD!!!!!

This would never have happened if Asa Breeney was still on duty.

That's too bad that the statue is being messed with.
Maybe Barney can rig up a wire and string thing with his old Brownie
Camera and catch the thief in process like at the fillin' station
Either that or Aunt Bee can string up some piano wire across the road
like that WW II movie.

Hey, after reading the reasons for naming the puppy Mary Grace, I have to
agree. I change my vote from Ellie to Mary Grace. I've been enjoying all the
dog naming discussion. Such fun.

I guess being so tall, they never get into water deep enough that they'd
need to swim. And all this time, I thought the reason you never saw giraffe
lifeguards was that they were selfish.

I didn't get to wish Andy a Happy Birthday on his birthday. So HAPPY
BIRTHDAY, Andy.
Also on Wednesday I was taking my dad to see his oncologist.
We were driving down the road in Nashville when we saw a meter-person
patrol, CHALKING TIRES.
I told my dad that could be Barney chalking the tires.
Daddy just started laughing. Daddy is a huge TAGS fan.
That was the first time I saw anyone chalking tires.
What brand of jeans and sneakers did Opie wear?

I'm reading a book on D-Day, June 6, 1944, it is a 60th anniversary tribute
from TIME. Very good book by the way. I bought three of them, one to keep
and two to give away. One of the men I gave the book to was in WWII in the
Pacific on D-Day.
The other one was in the Army in the 1950's and he is a history buff.
There is a quote on page 101 from Ernie Pyle, WWII reporter.
I went to a web site about Mr. Pyle and the site said he was born in
Indiana, died April 18, 1945 on Okinawa by a snipers bullet.
Maybe that is why Jim Nabors was asked to sing at the Indy 500, because he
played Gomer Pyle.
This is just a guess about why "Gomer" was asked to sing.
Margaret
p.s.
To the lady who went thru a tornado, aren't you glad you survived. My dad
and I were home on April 16, 1998 when two came thru the house
and scared the daylights out of me. I prayed harder than I ever had
before, about not wanting to be hurt and hoping that no one else was
injured or killed. One tornado came in the front door and the other one
came in the back door. The tornadoes happened in Nashville.
