Re: Thievery and Dirty deeds.

All this mayhem in Raleigh just goes to show that the statue would
have been better off in Mount Airy. The good folks in Andy's hometown
would take better care of it!

Come on TV Land - let's put a proper statue in the proper town!

Subject: Aunt Bee's Big Moment
From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Last night I watched Episode 242, Aunt Bee's Big Moment, and got to thinking
about Aunt Bee not being able to think of any 'big moments' in her life while
Andy, Helen, Howard, and Goober were talking about those.
Aunt Bee must have totally forgotten about these "big moments" in her life.
Episode 236: The Mayberry Chef - Aunt Bee was chosen to have her own
television show about cooking.
Episode 210: Aunt Bee's Restaurant - Aunt Bee opened up a Chinese restaurant in
Mayberry which was a big success.
Episode 201: Only a Rose - Aunt Bee's beautiful rose won the seed flower
contest so her picture and a picture of the rose would appear in the Simmon's
Seed Catalog.
Episode 189: A Singer in Town - the song,Mayberry my Hometown, which was
written by Aunt Bee and Clara Edwards was sung on TV by Keevie Haselton, and
Aunt Bee also appeared on the program.
Episode 186: The Foster Lady - Aunt Bee was chosen to be the Foster Furniture
Polish Company's new Foster Lady
Episode 169: Aunt Bee on TV - while in Hollywood, Aunt Bee appeared on a
nationally televised quiz program and won the grand prize.

There certainly are more big moments for Aunt Bee. She bought her first car
and got her drivers license, she won the trip to Mexico, she appeared as Lady
Mayberry, although for a short time, she ran for town council, and the final
one, and I save the best for last, she got "tootled" on Colonel Harvey's Indian
Elixer. That by far had to be her "biggest moment" because she hadn't felt like
that since she was baptized.

Hot, muggy day here in southern Indiana. Think I'll head
down to Wally's for an orange pop. No, wait, maybe a grape...

Give em 95 and they'll take 96, give em 96 and they'll take 97, give em
97.........

I wish I could tell the difference between 95 and 96. Here on the west coast
of south Florida, it's just flat dogged HOT!!!! Add humidity and Calviin
Coolidge couldn't say it better! Good thing Floyd's Barber Shop was on the
north side of the street - can you imagine his complaining if the sun was
beating down on the front door? A funeral home folding fan wouldn't help
at'll!

I'm a little behind on my digests, but I wanted to congratulate the Burch
family on bringing home their new pup, "Ellie." No doubt she'll be Raised
Right and taught to "act like somebody!"

I am probably in the minority here, but I count myself a loyal Warren Ferguson
fan. I think that his episodes are some of the funniest in the color seasons.
Sure, he suffers in comparison with Barney (who wouldn't?!!), but I think the
Warren episodes had a lot more energy than most of the post-Warren episodes,
when there was no deputy. Just don't compare Warren to Barney, and I think you
may agree. Why does there always have to be a competition between Barney and
Warren anyway? You'll recall that even Warren Ferguson felt that his
predecessor was a living legend! Warren's character made for some amusing
situations, and Jack Burns seems to be a very likable guy. I wish he would be
invited to the reunions -- both on TV and in Mt. Airy/Newcastle. I would like
to meet him and tell him how much I appreciate his work on TAGS. After all, he
was thrown into a thankless situation.
