I didn't know they were together yet at that point. But of course, Burns'
"Huh? Yeah! Huh? Yeah!" bit was part of their routine. Who knows, Schreiber
might've turned up if Burns/Warren had been on the show long enough. At the
time, however, Schreiber had a full-time job on another network: ironically,
he
was the guy conniving to buy Jerry Van Dyke's mother on "My Mother the Car."

We discussed the squad car awhile back and came to the conclusion there's
only one, apparently still in existence. It's in the museum of one of the
famous
singing cowboys (I'm blanking on whether it's Roy Rogers or Gene Autry), and
I think it's the '62. The rest apparently went back to the Ford dealer every
year to be repainted and sold as a program car. I have to wonder if any of
*them* are still on the road or in garages, seems like their pedigrees could be
traced by VIN number.
A visitors' center in Mount Airy has the plaques that hung on the courthouse
doors outside. But I would love to hear whatever became of Floyd's barber
pole, *that* should be in the Smith Brothers' Institute (Smithsonian)!

Boy Talk about a Sightings Day.
I saw Otis as a Restaurant manager in an episode of Leave it to Beaver
and then saw Burt Mustin (sp?)as the fireman in another Beaver episode.
and then Mrs Letch showed up as Lurch's Mother on an episode of
The Addams Family.

Cheerwine! There's a real NC drink! When I go back to NC to visit family
or friends, I often get a case or two. How many of y'all have heard of
Cheerwine? (It may not be what you think.)

hi gang.....
i've wondered about this before, and don't know if it's been discussed
here, but were there ever any African-Americans on TAGS? i do remember
a color episode in which a black man played a football coach, and i
have a vague and possibly incorrect memory of seeing a person of color
in one of the black and white (pun intended!) episodes.
can anyone clear this up..?
thx,

I think that Helen was singing when Goober had the computer date and they were
all together at the end of the show around the piano.

Hey again everybody! I hope you all have a fantastic summer!
I just wanted to comment on Brad "Neil Bentley" Cunningham's message about his
daughter having called to tell him about something BIG! I loved it!!! I
thought that was great, Brad/Neil!
We four (my husband, our two teen daughters and I) do that all the time....
and it warms my heart that THAT is what they quote!!!
Just this week, my 16-year-old daughter and I were looking at some pictures of
Ronald Reagan... how precious and wonderful! Anyway, we got to some that were
taken when he was probably in his late 40's... and, my daughter's comment was,
"He's sure been beautiful preserved!" One of her frequent comments about
things is, "It makes me kinda sad."
Oh, I love to hear my family quote Andy and the gang! It's especially fun
when one of us quotes something and the others carry it on and finish the
conversation that was on the show. (Did that make sense? I knew what I was
trying to say and I confused MYSELF!)
Anyway, I just thought Brad's daughter's comment was precious... especially
for her to be so young!
Well... lotsa luck to you and yours!

Hello Mayberry!
lastr week I was flying home from Long Beach, CA on jetBlue Airways. You
may or may not know that one of the inflight features on jetBlue is 25
channels of direct TV at each seat. As we were taxiing out for takeoff they
turned the system on and there on TV Land was TAGS! What a way to fly (even
though it was a color episode, not my favorite but hey TAGS is TAGS!).
Actually it was the one where Opie writes about the Battle of Mayberry,
which is one of the best color episodes and really made the first half hour
of the flight go by too quickly. Interesting thing about that episode it
that the Mayberry Indian resident is the same guy that played Chip Douglas's
father-in-law on the later episodes of "My Three Sons".
Well, I guess that's about it, hope all is well with everyone and talk to
you soon!

Grettings TAGS fnas,
Last night while watching TAGS, I noticed Barney (in full uniform)
WITHOUT his gun on
when he came out onto the side walk. I never observed this before on
any other episodes. Does anyone else recall seeing Barney without his gun
straped
on his side while being in full uniform? Maybe this was discussed before,
but I found this a rather rare occurance. Maybe we can have some fun with
this one.
You are the one for puttin' a glow in a man's day.
