HI all - I have a trivia question I thought might be a good one to ponder. I
was trying to think, which episode(s) - Black & White only - have the "fewest"
number of set changes? Makes you think!

GF and Kraft are all part of the Altria Group umbrella now, thanks to several
mergers.
At the time GF was free-standing and made Shake and Bake, Sanka, Post cereal,
Birdseye, Cool Whip and Gaines Burgers, all of which were advertised on TAGS.

Since Aneta Corsaut passed away in the early 1990s, I wouldn't think they
keep her character around to be portrayed by someone else. I think having
Ellie
come back to take over the drugstore again, and getting involved with the
once-again-widowed Andy, would be perfect.
Meanwhile, Warren is the sheriff now, and Barney comes out of retirement to
give him a hand.
Personally, I wouldn't want to have another reunion now; the one in 1986
caught many of the now-deceased regulars in their roles one last time (Howard,
Helen, Otis, Briscoe Darling) and I think we should just leave it there.

Here in Ohio we have some places that serve hamburgers and hot dogs with
cole slaw and chilli. I thought that sounded strange too but oh it's
goooooooood!!!!
My favorite sandwich is still the pork chop sandwich from the Snappy Lunch.
Hands down, the best sandwich I've ever had.
I didn't tell them how good it was but I sure did eat a lot of those during
Mayberry Days. You know... eatin' speaks louder than words.

I remember as a kid, my family riding up into the mountains of North
Carolina for a day's outing. One of my very favorite things was when Dad
would stop at a gas station (we called them fillin' stations) to get
everybody a cold drink (yes, we called everything a coke). The fun was that
you had a chance to sample some regional flavor you couldn't get at home.
There was always some local bottler which had his own brand and something
unusual. Back in those days, that was the edge of Cheerwine country, so
that was always one of my favorite road drinks.
I certainly can see us pulling into Wally's and I can even feel the
excitement of opening that drink cooler to see what exotic beverages might
be there. The trick with those coolers (like the one we see at Wally's) was
that the bottles were lined up in cold water and you had to slide them down
to get them out. All you could see was their bottle caps. It was almost
like a treasure hunt scanning those bottle caps for something you didn't
recognize. Since I never did see a Nectarine Crush, I can only surmise that
Floyd got them first.

You may be onto something, Paul. In "Andy and Opie-Bachelors" Opie exclaims,
"Look Pa, your favorite - chicken with crust!" when Miss Peggy bring lunch to

Well, I had another Mayberry moment. We are getting new neighbors next door,

Aunt Bee doing the same thing.

Since I hail from that state of beautiful mountains (and the town of
Charleston where Miss Jean Carson is from too), I can fully attest that,
yes indeed, West Virginia makes the best "Slaw Dogs" known to man
(and maybe beast too)....
Here's how I like mine: start with a fresh, soft bun. Add a bottom layer
of chopped onions, then a small amount of hot dog sauce, then a hot
steamed or grilled wiener, then a big serving of hot dog sauce and top
with a heaping serving of sweet cole slaw. Whew, doggies! What good
eatin'... Now of course, everyone 'dresses' their dogs up in different ways
(mustard, relish, and sauerkrant, if you like those too), but in the end,
they'll always be topped with "slaw & sauce"...
You can buy sauce in a can at the store that sort of tastes like homemade
sauce, but my Mom made hers from scratch: thick and with lots of hamburger.
It even tasted great on buns for Sloppy Joes...
As for the slaw, I like my dogs with sweet slaw (lots of sugar added), while
my
hubby likes his with 'vinegar slaw' (less sugar and more vinegar)...
Oh, my.... All this talk is making me sooooo hungry. I off to get a slaw
dog
somewhere here in southern Indiana!

The idea about another Return to Mayberry with all of Andy's girl friends could
turn a comedy into tragedy. I guess we could match all the girls up with new

I'm sure none of us underestimate the power of TAGS and how greatly
our culture has been influenced by it. So I was more than delighted
at an occurrence last night on CNN which underscores just how
broad-based the Mayberry message is.
There they were on CNN - giving a serious news report on Iraq -
focusing on the fact that the hand-over had occurred two days earlier
than expected.
And there it was - the text written on the screen -
"Surprise - Surprise - Surprise!"

in fact, i think putting anything but mustard on a dog is just gilding
the lily. now having said that, i have been known to tuck into a
chicago-style dog with gusto, and they've got everything on 'em but the
kitchen sink! on the whole, tho, mustard only for me, please. and not
that fancy stuff, either.....just good ol' ballpark yellow.

From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
In another reunion show I'd like everyone we ever saw in Mayberry to be
on it and all the single folks to be happily married. As for a plot, it
might be interesting to have one in which some outsider was trying to
bring a big development and modernize the town and how the citizenry
fought it so as to keep Mayberry cozy and intimate like it always was. I
didn't even like the modernizations we saw in the first reunion show;
like Barney, I don't like change!

Hi y'all. I was thinking about how nice it would be if they did do another
Mayberry Reunion movie. This time Ange and Barney could come back to retire in
Mayberry. Maybe they could even play checkers in front of the courthouse like
ol Jud once did. There would ,of course, be a younger sheriff and deputy in
town. Any way perhaps they could sit there in front of the courthouse or on
their front porch at the old home place and remminence about all the adventures
of the past(film clips included). Maybe later in the evening they might run
down to the store for ice cream or a bottle of pop. It would be nice just
visiting with them a while before we have to say good-by. Cause once you are
gone you can't come back... it just ain't decent.

>>If there was another Return to Mayberry, does anyone have ideas for the
story
line?<<
AuntBee1, there are lots of possible storylines. See Fan Fiction at your
favorite website...on the yellow bar at the right a little over half way
down.
http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/index.htm
>>>Of course, that could make the town a little too hot to handle for Andy.
He
wouldn't be able to go a block without running into an old girlfriend.
Hmmmm....<<
Strangely enough Andy didn't have to deal with more than one woman at a time
very often. He wasn't as bold as Barney in that regard.
There was Daphne the Fun Girl vs. Helen. The was Cousin Gloria vs. Helen.
Who was the girl that went to the cabin with Andy Howard and Helen?...and
then of course the time he sought solace with Mavis Neff. Were those the
only times???
...course he had that who house full of girls when Barney tried to do his
early version of "The Bachelor"
...and then that old Lady that danced with him at the Chamber or Commence
Dance.
