I agree with Paul....."I believe I've heard just about enough about that
tomato!" Let's keep the finely honed study of "Griffithology"
Pure and simple....like it was meant to be!

So.....let's just nip it.....nip in the bud! If you'll read ANY book on
Griffithology....they'll be in favor of bud nippin!"

Hey folks,

I don't mean to be cantankerous, but I've heard all I want
to hear about
regional soft drinks and hot dog fixings. This has nothing
to do with The
Andy Griffith Show.

--Paul

Relax,Paul. What you need is a couple of chili dogs and a
lemon phosphate. It's goooooood!

Hey Paul, what do you mean not having anything to do with TAGS? Have you
forgotten that Opie and his Merry Men gave weinies and rootbeer to their Hobo
friend??? Now that is hot dogs and soda in my book. But I have to agree with
you Paul, no more hotdogs and soda. As for me, I shall never mention it again.
Pick a lock.

I think that would be an excellent idea, and I understand the DVD releases of
"I Love Lucy" and "Here's Lucy" actually did that.

Subject: Thelma Lou and Miss Edwards

Even though I am in the profession, I have never watched L.A. Law. However, I
was switching the channel the other night and passed by an episode. I could
swear I saw Thelma Lou, aka Betty Lynn, portraying the mother of a troubled
young man on the show. However, I did not get a very long look. Can anyone
verify this with a yea or nay?

Also, I know this has probably been discussed, but is there a story behind Miss
Johnson (Bertha) becoming Miss Edwards? (Clara) (And, at what point did it
happen?) Maybe its just one of those things like Floyd Colby becoming Floyd
Lawson or Goober Beasley becoming Goober Pyle.
Makes ya think!!!

I agree with Paul, as much as I love a good hot dog, it's time we got back
to TAGS. Same for soft drinks.

You know, I bet Andy Taylor was a good Grandpa. I can see him now holding
the grandkids hands as they walk down to Wally's. He'd have to pick them up
so they could see in the cooler to pick out their Huckleberry Smash or
Nectarine Crush or maybe even a Chocolate Soldier. Then they'd have to stop
at the Diner on the way back to get a hot dog. Like my grandkids, they
wouldn't like all the fixins, they'd just get it plain and then end up just
eating the wiener. But Andy wouldn't care, cause he's a Grandpa.

(Reckon Paul will let me by on this one? I think I got him on a
technicality.)

Hey Richard,

That is a great idea for a bonus on the DVD's to add the commercials. I have
never seen any of them. Wonder if it is too late to voice that opinion or
vote that opinion to the powers to be making the DVD.

Having done my own genealogical research I find it difficult to believe
that Nathan Tibbs would only have one ancestor living. This was what
almost 200 years later? All that begetting surely would have produced
more than one living ancestor? I know that on my mama's side I have 15
firts cousins & they had approximately 45 children between them. This
is not counting mama's cousins & maw-maw & paw-paw's cousins & their
offspring. My paternal side is a bit less populated, but there is still
more than just my brother & I.
Also, is this the only instance of a relative that doesn't have the same
last name as the person he is related to? All of Andy's relatives seemed
to be Taylors. Didn't his ma have any relatives? I suppose Aunt Nora was
no longer a Taylor. Any other instances? I remember when Opie researched
The battle of Mayberry everyone's ancestor had their last name,
including Mrs. Clara Edwards (remember the Pickle Contest?) who had
suddenly become Miss Clara Edwards.

Subject: New item at the Emporium
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey folks,
Just wanted to let everyone know about a neat new item at the Mayberry
Emporium. It is a 14 CD set of the Andy Griffith Show (audio only - 28
episodes)
recorded from Transcription Disks made the first time the shows aired. That
makes them COMPLETE and UNCUT including all of the commercials (cast
commercial
at the end as well). Go to this address:
www.mayberry-emporium.com
and click on the "Other Stuff" page. I won't take up space here on the
bulletin board telling you about the history of this great set but you can
read
about them at the website. I'll have a set with me in New Castle if anyone
would like to see one close up. I'm only going to make 100 sets so if you are
interested order soon! If you have any questions please email me at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks,
Gary (Bert at the Emporium)
