My best guess for why Clara's name became Edwards is because his wife's maiden
name was Edwards.
He also mentioned "Barbara Edwards" as a girl he courted in school in "Opie
Loves Helen". Barbara also showed up as "Sharon" in the episode where Gomer
bumps Barney from the choir. Her only line was "I'm sorry, Mr. Masters."

Subject: Andy's Tie and Uniform

I can recall four or maybe five occasions when Andy wore a tie with his
uniform. But I bet there are more.

1. When they presented Otis with the award.
2. When Malcolm got Andy dressed in the morning.
3. When Andy went to the meeting about deptuties on Barney's fifth
   anniversary.
4. When Opie brought him the polka dotted tie and hat.
5. I think he wore a tie in a color episode when the governor came to
Mayberry and Warren and Goober shot off the cannon, but not too sure
   about this one.

p.s. Sorry about the misquote when I said "take a lock". Boy, a guy has to be
sooooooooooo careful with all you trained noticers out there. I didn't think I
had it quite right, but thought I could sneak it by.

The only explanation I ever heard is that Andy just couldn't get the proper
chemistry with her, and that it just wasn't a good fit. That's a shame, as she
was always my favorite of Andy's significant others and was a TV character
well ahead of her time.

I hope I can get this in without causing someone to pop a vessel and this is
the last I'll say on the subject. When the fun girls were caught speeding
through Mayberry, they were stopped in front of a hot dog emporium.

Hey folks,
I posted this message on Saturday and the server that hosts my website was
down most of the day so I am posting again.
Just wanted to let everyone know about a neat new item at the Mayberry
Emporium. It is a 14 CD set of the Andy Griffith Show (audio only - 28
episodes)
recorded from Transcription Disks made the first time the shows aired. That
makes them COMPLETE and UNCUT including all of the commercials (cast
commercial
at the end as well). Go to this address:
www.mayberry-emporium.com
and click on the "Other Stuff" page. I won't take up space here on the
bulletin board telling you about the history of this great set but you can
read
about them at the website. I'll have a set with me in New Castle if anyone
would like to see one close up. I'm only going to make 100 sets so if you are
interested order soon! If you have any questions please email me at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks,
Gary (Bert at the Emporium)

I won't be able to attend Mayberry in the Midwest this year but I hope everyone
that goes has as great a time as I've had in the past. I also hope that you
all will have a safe drive there and back home.
