We just received some wonderful news that Dean Webb will be joining Rodney and
Doug Dillard at "Mayberry in the Midwest III" this weekend. He had
scheduling conflict earlier but was able to work it out to join us. What a
pleasant surprise! Remember there are tickets to both nights still available.
You can check out our website mayberryinthemidwest.com or call toll free
1-888-676-4302 for ticket information. We will have a will call window and
tickets will be available at the event site. It looks like beautiful weather
for the weekend so hopefully you will be able to join us for this fun filled
family weekend.

Hello All! I am so pumped to road trip to my first Mayberry event this
weekend, Mayberry in the Midwest! My dad and I are road tripping from
Minnesota for the festivities. If I can find a computer to use at the hotel I
will be blogging our experience. If not I with be sure to report it all on my
website as soon as I get back. I am looking forward to meeting some of the
fans that I have met on the Digest.
The blog site is...

>>>>I am looking to purchase a set of the Hawthorne Mayberry Village
Collection for my wife's 35 anniversary gift. She saw one recently and asked
if I could find her one. Considering how well she has treated me over
the years, I am now in hot pursuit. Please email me if you have any
knowledge as to where one can be purchased.

Hey Danny,
I think you should get her a mink coat. Flora has a friend in Mt. Pilot who
can get you one wholesale. Flora will have to go along though.
As far as the episode with the least scene changes, isn't Dogs, Dogs, Dogs
filmed entirely in the courthouse (except when Barney puts the dogs in the car
and tells the airedale to move over, he's driving. I've often wondered if that
was an ad-lib.)?
The name Hogette is French, you know.

I had a Mayberry Moment yesterday that I thought all of you would enjoy. I was
driving home listening to our local radio station, when I heard the name
"Floyd" which of course really got my attention. They were recommending some
service and they said: "Just come on in and it will be like a visit to Floyd's
Barber Shop, your problem will be solved in a half hour just like a visit to
Mayberry." I know all of you agree!
I was sorry to hear that Millie/ Miss Arlene Golonka will not be able to be
with us in New Castle. Our prayers go out to her husband as he recovers from
his surgery.
I hope to see all of you in New Castle,
Anita Carpenter

I am a new member, and I can safely say I open the digest before even
beginning work. Just had to mention one of my favorite all time pieces of
dialogue and point out one little inconsistency. When Mr. Tucker's car gets
stranded and he is going to spend the night, Opie says, "Please stay, Mr.
Tucker. If you do, I'll get to sleep between two chairs on the ironing
board." Mr. Tucker replies, "Sounds terrible." "No, that's adventure
sleepin'," Opie says.
In that same episode Barney and Andy sing "Little Brown Church, " with Barney
supplying pretty good harmony even though, according to Thelma Lou, "...Barney
can't sing a lick."

I noticed on TAGS last nite that Juanita's last name is Beasley. Is Beasley
one of those names that Andy Griffith used because he really knew someone by
that name? Isn't that what Goober's last name started out to be? I'm not a
trained noticer but this has me wondering. Oh, and Mary, the girl with her
front teeth missing, was the same girl that Opie wanted to enter in the beauty
pageant. Was her name Mary on that show too?
Thanks,

Last evening I caught a radio program and thoght I heard Parley Baer's voice.
I think that the program may have been "Adventures in Odyssey.
Also there was a clue in my TV Guide crossword _________ Corsaut of Mrs. G
Goes to College. Of course the answer was Aneta. Does anyone know anything

To: WBMUTBB <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
The origin of the phrase "tick a lock" is based on the old-fashioned
locks mounted on a plate below the doorknob (the skeleton key locks).
There's a definite "tick" or "click" sound when the lock is engaged.
It implies that my mouth is locked as tight as a door when you "tick a
lock!".

>>>In watching "Christmas in Connecticut" this
morning, I believe I spotted our Mr. Schwump at the dance, sitting on the
sidelines as usual. Since we do not know his real name, I could not look
for him in the credits. Did anyone else experience this?<<<
Yes, once when I was watching "Christmas in Connecticut," I too thought I
spotted Mr. Schwamp at the dance. On closer inspection, though, I decided it
wasn't him. For one thing, that movie was released in 1945, which was about
twenty years before our beloved Schwamp appeared on TAGS, so he would have
looked much younger in "Christmas," if that was him. If you want to indulge in
wishful thinking, you could speculate that the extra in "Christmas" was
Schwamp's daddy!

Hi my Mayberry friends,
I am sorry but I guess I will I will get some folks
upset with me......Ok....What does it matter if we talk about hotdogs or
cheerwine in this digest forever!! You do not have to respond if you do not
desire to comment on the topic!!! Andy Griffith loves hot dogs......Andy
Taylor loves hot dogs.....Matlock Really loves hot dogs!!!!!! My
point............If someone does not like the topic that is on the
floor.......simply do not comment...... I love this digest and I have been a
member for a long time. Can we at least give some respect for people that may
get feelings hurt that do not understand about keeping the digest flowing? How
many times have we heard the same questions over and over again? Well we
have new digest members all the time!!!!!! The same questions will always be
asked!!! for one...I enjoyed all of the hot dog questions and answers! I am
sorry....but as long as it is Mayberry like in nature and comments.....it
should not matter how many times hot dogs are mentioned. Ok ..now I guess I am
gonna get folks mad at me. Sorry...... And by the way........ I think the
world of Allan and Paul!!!!
