Its been since just after Mayberry days that i have posted anything but I have
kept up with the news from here. I have read a lot about who would have been a
good replacement for Barney and I have a comment on that. What's with all the
talk about women replacing him ? What was wrong with Jack Burns replacing him
? I think it was too much of a change too soon after Barney's departure and
that's what it would have been had a woman replaced him. I suppose a lot of
this talk about women is in jest and that's alright. We are here for the
laughs. But I think the most suitable replacement would have been Goober.He had
already been deputized, we'd seen him in that role, and we were all to familiar
with him. I think it would have made a good story line for Andy to accept
Goober onto the force. We could have gotten by with less of Wally's gas station
a lot easier then the void left by Don Knotts. Anyway that's my take on who the
new deputy should have been.
Thanks for allowing me to post after such a long absence. I almost feel like a
stranger after all this time. Hope You all have a great Christmas and I'll keep
reading .
