My daughter and I sat down last night and watched the TAGS Christmas episode together. I have to fight back the tears every time I hear "Away in a Manger" and see ol' Ben Weaver clutching those cell window bars and mouthing the words.
Anyway, there's a little inconsistency I've noticed before, but I'm not sure anyone has mentioned it (maybe I forgot). When Barney opens his Christmas card from Hilda Mae, the camera is to his right. Then after a couple of seconds, the camera cuts, and we see him from the front (and Andy's left). He is still reading the card and chuckling, but now he is holding a different card! I guess when they shot the scene from this angle, nobody paid attention to which card Barney was holding. Just a trivial triviality that makes the show a little more interesting. Another tidbit I always notice is that when Andy, Barney, and Ellie come out coatless after Ben Weaver as he tries to carry off the bench, Ellie is the only one who is hugging herself and rubbing her arms as though to warm herself on this "cold" winter day. I think this adds a nice touch of realism, since Ben is wearing a scarf and topcoat.
